  • Kickstart Your Day With This Morning Detox Drink

The first thing you put in your body every morning has a huge impact on your overall health and wellbeing. Detox drinks are said to eliminate toxins from your body, improve health, and promote weight loss (if that is your goal). Another important benefit of detoxing and early morning hydration is that it is important for digestive health and maintaining regular bowel movements.

Sounds good, right? Now, let’s get into some great morning detox drinks to kickstart your day!

Lemon water makes it into my routine on a more frequent basis, but I often spice it up with the other two ingredients: Apple Cider Vinegar and Turmeric.

Lemons are rich in Vitamin C which help strengthen the immune system and increases the body’s resistance to infections. Lemon juice also helps with digestion and its scent has been shown to improve mood and energy levels.

For a simple detox drink with lemon, squeeze 1/2 a lemon in warm water and drink it first thing in the morning.

Now, let’s talk about the other two ingredients and their benefits:

Apple Cider Vinegar helps lower blood sugar levels, burn fat leading to weight loss and kills bacteria. Research also shows that Apple Cider vinegar can help detoxify the liver.

Turmeric has anti-inflammatory benefits and is a strong anti-oxidant.

To help improve the absorption of turmeric, you can add some black pepper or cayenne pepper to this drink. Honey can also help improve the taste. Here’s the recipe I use often:

    • 1/2 lemon
    • 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric
    • 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
    • pinch of cayenne or black pepper
    • 1 tablespoon of honey
    • 1 cup of warm water

Mix all these ingredients in a cup. It’s that easy!

Note: You will get the benefits of this drink if you consume it at anytime of the day so don’t worry if you miss it in the morning. Just catch up whenever you can!

  • Hot Topic: Would You Marry A 30-Year-Old Man Who Lives With His Mother?

    Hey lovelies,

A young, unmarried friend of mine approached me with this question some days ago and I wanted to share it here to know what you think.

Here is the scenario: The lady is in her mid 20’s and ready to settle down. The man is 30, met her at a work-related event and they clicked immediately. They’ve been dating for almost a year, met each other’s friends and are getting ready to take it to the next level by meeting each other’s parents. His father is late and he is an only child, hence, his closeness to his mother. His mother also has some health challenges and he’s been taking care of her since he lost his father 5 years ago. It’s never been an option to leave his mother and he never thought about it until she raised some concerns. According to him, his mother will live with them if they get married and he’s not going to change his mind.

What would you do if you were in this situation? Would you go on with the relationship and eventually marry him, knowing you would be living with your husband and mother-in-law? What would you advise this lady to do?

I’ll love to know what you think. Please share your comments below.

Today, I have the pleasure of bringing to you the full episode of Make Me Fabulous Season 2, Episode 8. On this episode, we hosted the lovely Temilola & Segun Oduyemi.

The excitement began right from the moment we picked them up from their home. Temilola’s day was filled with many treats and by the time we were through, she looked so different and stunning!

I truly enjoyed the heart-to-heart chat I had with them about their marital journey and their time spent on the show. Their vow renewal ceremony was also exceptional. It was such a beautiful and emotional ceremony for the Oduyemi’s. Their words were honest and filled with so much depth as they remembered how far they’d come in this seven-year journey.

  • Did You Make A New Friend This Year?

    It’s already October lovelies!

A few days ago, as we crossed into the last quarter of the year 2019, I began to reflect on the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year. One of those goals was to make good connections with people, both business and personal, that would have a positive impact on my life.

Relationships are important. At different stages of my professional journey, people have been instrumental in helping me achieve success or bring life to my dreams. In my personal endeavors, I wouldn’t have come this far without the support of my husband, close family and friends who have supported me every step of the way.

So, as I reflect on the year 2019, I’m very grateful for the new connections I’ve made with people who have helped make my life more beautiful.

Tell me about your experience. Did you make a new friend this year?

  • A Typical Day In Your Life

Sometimes I wish I had a typical daily routine to stick with everyday, or at least every week day, but nope – my schedule is more random than that.

There are however some things that are usually a part of my daily routine:

My morning prayers: I’ve got to give thanks to God and commit each day into His hands. I am absolutely nothing without God.

Breakfast: Yup! Sometimes when I’m on the move, I forget what time lunch is and may even skip that entirely, so I like to start my day with some food in my stomach.

School runs: Moms, Dads and wonderful guardians know just how hectic but fulfilling this can be!

Screen time: This comprises of a bunch of things I do on my computer or phone such as sending and responding to emails, writing business plans and proposals, writing stories, checking out scripts, scheduling meetings, blogging, updating social media, responding to social media messages, training, mentoring, and much more.

Meetings: From project planning to just making good connections, attending meetings take a good chunk of my time on weekdays. This could be physical one-on-one meetings, long phone conversations or Skype calls.

Rest: If you don’t rest, you’ll burn out. And that’s the truth! Rest for me could be reading a book, watching a movie, talking with friends and family or actually sleeping.

Like I mentioned earlier, my schedule is not consistent every day so things change quite a lot!

How about you? Do you have a typical daily schedule? What’s a typical day in your life like?
