What does Easter say to you?
I congratulate the Nigerian people on the just concluded Presidential Elections. Through the peaceful conduct of the elections, Nigerians have exercised their sovereign right to elect their own leaders, thereby strengthening the frontiers of democracy.
This could not have been possible without an enabling political ground for a free and fair elections which was provided by President Goodluck Jonathan whose mark of courage I salute.
I also hereby congratulate the President-elect General Muhammadu Buhari on his victory in the polls .
Instead of inciting violence, both parties to a large extent, have embraced peace. Instead of wearing arms, we are shaking hands and chanting songs of peace and freedom.
The true victors are indeed, the Nigerian people. In many clear ways, Nigerians have realized their rights and the power of their votes. It is therefore now time for us to demand accountability from our leaders, to hold them responsible for their actions at all times.
This indeed is the true spirit of democracy. The spirit of “Naija.”
God bless Nigeria.
There are very few things that keeps the entire country glued to their TV Sets, Twitter, Blogs or any media source like Football and Elections.
This time around, its the latter.
As we anxiously await the announcement of the final results of the Presidential, Senatorial and National Assembly results, I’d like to encourage us that we should do so in peace.
The results are trickling in… but let’s not get agitated if our candidates don’t win. Already, people are panicking across the country, worried that there might be some form of violence after the results are announced. I’d like to encourage us that things can be done in an orderly manner, in peace, and without violence.
Saturday’s elections did not go without some hitches. It’s really sad that some lives were lost in the process. Some gave in to violence while others used the situation to commit crimes. My prayer is that God comforts the families of those who lost their lives and that everything goes on well from now on.
I believe in Nigeria, and a better tomorrow.
Palm Sunday marks the start of Holy Week. It reminds Christians of the journey Jesus made into Jerusalem, on a donkey, to celebrate the Jewish festival of Passover (Pesach). Jesus chose a donkey to show that he had come in peace. Many people welcomed Jesus by shouting, waving palm branches and throwing branches down in the path of the donkey. They hoped that Jesus was the Saviour who the Bible had promised.
Palm Sunday tells us that…it is the cross that is the true tree of life. On Palm Sunday Jesus had the bigger picture in mind. He looked beyond the present and thought about the worlds future.
Remember a week before he was crucified like a criminal, he rode into the city a king. Palm Sunday reminds us about the voluntary death of Jesus. He came to die. He planned to die. He intended to die. But even in death, Jesus had victory and He rose again to eternal life!
Today, we remember not just Jesus’ entry in to Jerusalem in the past, but also his entry in the future.
May the spirit of this holy occasion, the warmth of the season make your heart bloom with joy & happiness.

I have always loved this song ‘Great Nation’ by Timi Dakolo and the strong message it has.
Today, as I stepped out of my home to see Nigerians turning out in their numbers to decide the future of our Great Nation, I was truly touched. I saw even the elderly standing on queues, braving the hot sun to vote and for sure, I know that Nigeria is a Great Nation with Great People.
The lyrics of the song are powerful and I’d like us to remember today that We Are All We Have.

Is anyone here in for a good laugh today? I just watched this short video and it totally made my day.
Judges in this reality show were stunned when a three year-old boy walked on the stage with a speaker which he called ‘His Baby’. His confidence and charm is so amazing, not forgetting his cute dance moves. He did some robot moves that got me laughing so hard till water filled my eyes. Oh boy!
He had the most adorable reply when asked why he loved to dance. You’d find this at (time 7:25). I had a big smile on my face throughout this video and I’m sure you will too. It’s so cute and sweet.

What was your most interesting part of the video?
I got to know about the Nigerian writer Chioma Nnani some few months back and have been impressed by her fiesty attitude which I see reflected clearly through her writings. She is the author of ‘Forever There For You‘ a Christian Fiction novel and holds a Law (LLB) degree from the University of Kent.
With her kind permission, today, I’d like to share an excerpt from her book which recounts a young woman’s struggles through a failed marriage, her faith, friendships and success.
That shame was all-consuming when Tony urinated on her. She returned from the Refuge meeting a bit later than she had anticipated. He was already in a mood and she tried not to antagonise him further. But he went berserk when he searched her bags and saw the Refuge letter-headed papers. He asked her who she thought she was and why she thought she could get away from him. When she said she had only gone to volunteer and showed him a print-out of the email Mrs Troy sent her, he hadn’t believed her. He slapped her, pushed her to the ground and kicked her. When she grabbed his leg instead of just shielding herself from the blows, as he was accustomed to, he was even more irate. He said that she now thought she could fight back so he would show her. He raped her, and when he stood up, she thought that was all he had in mind. Until he urinated on her and called her a ‘filthy, disgusting, foolish creature’.
This new act of degradation made Nadine feel even more broken. She knew this had to be how Kiranjit Ahluwalia felt. But the erstwhile insignificant, little woman had gone on to gain her freedom and make legal history. No, she hadn’t done it alone and she had the power of sisterhood behind her, there for her and working for her. Nadine wondered how liberated and vindicated she must have felt. To say she hated Tony was an understatement. She wanted to hurt him, not out of revenge – she had no compulsion for vengeance. All she wanted was freedom. When her husband sat down to breakfast alone the following morning, she wondered what would happen if she poured his morning tea over him. Or if she mixed anti-freeze with his cereal. Or rat poison in his dinner that evening. She would watch him squirm and hurt. He would die a painful death. She would probably go to jail, but he would never hurt her again. She wasn’t sure that even then she would be able to bring herself to admit the incident or the extent of the abuse, so if she ever got caught, they might think she did it for financial reasons. That the treatment she would receive would be very harsh, was almost guaranteed. But if she was a man … It was almost unbelievable, the discrepancies in the treatments given to men and women, even in this century. Even in this country that was supposed to be civilised.

The difference between success and failure is a great team.
No man is an island and that’s a fact. Every successful person, everyone who has achieved any goal in life whether big or small has done so with the support of others.
This is especially true for business owners and professionals in high organisational levels. The best way to build a company with great success and scale is to build a great team.
Of course, I’m not saying there are certain things you can’t do alone. But there are a lot more things you can do better with your team. And when I say team, I don’t mean just your professional team or your sub-ordinates at work. Your team members could comprise of your loyal driver who always comes to work on time, your dependable wife/husband who is always there with great advice, your domestic staff who relieves you of the household chores or your mother who is always there to help out with the kids. It could also be your friend who lets you borrow her car whenever you are in need, your sales girl at your shop who takes care of business in your absence….
For those who try to tough it out alone, it can be a difficult battle. Everyone needs someone to help out with tasks you cannot do for yourself. Delegating work to others or giving someone else a responsibility does not mean you are not capable enough to handle it, but means you have reached a point where you have to focus your attention on other bigger things.
Many times I have tried to start projects but I’m limited because I don’t have a team for that particular project. Other times, I have had the zeal to go forward with new projects because I have competent people on my team who help in bringing them to reality.
Team work is a give or take situation. Sometimes, you could be the one on other people’s team, helping them achieve their dreams and at other times, you could be the one bringing them together for your ideas. Whatever side you are on, carry out your responsibilities with zeal.
My wish for you today is that you find competent people who will make your dreams come true just like you help others bring their dreams to life?
Appreciate someone today. Who is that important person who helps you out at home or at work in making your life balanced? Remember, no one’s input is too little.
