  • 2015 to-do list: 3 things you should do!

Oh wow! How time flies! I know it’s the middle of May and it seems there’s no stopping the clock.

But hold on for one second… how far have you come in 2015?

I know you have a list of your own and plans for the rest of the year; but trust me, you should add these 3 to your bucket list!

There’s something exciting about striking out accomplished deeds from your to-do list, so let’s start that trend.

Here are 3 things you should add to your bucket list for 2015!

    1. Visit a state in Nigeria you have not been to!

I know you want to take another trip to Dubai or Zanzibar, but have you explored the richness of Nigeria yet? It’s sad that the intra-travel business is not booming, nonetheless I think when we need a break sometimes, all we really need is a trip to another state, enjoy the vast beauty of Nigeria and appreciate the multiplicity of what we have. So have you been to Abeokuta, Calabar…?

    2. Re-arrange your house:

Some of the emotional problems we carry are, sometimes, linked to things as irrelevant as, say, the layout of our office space or home. Change the position of your couch, add some bright fun colours to the walls in your living room, buy some new fresh bedspreads, add some CDs to your music compartment. These things, albeit small, can brighten your life, I tell you! Try it! Tweak the look of your office, or just as a positive stick-on to your computer! Little things, big results to your well-being!

    3. Learn a new fancy!

See? I didn’t call it trade, because that might sound too serious LOL! So, learn a new fancy!
Learn salsa, learn how to bake, learn how to apply makeup, learn public speaking, learn how to design fliers and websites.

It takes a minute to decide, but a lifetime of benefits.

So what else would you like on your 2015 to-do list?

  • Taking One Step At A Time

“There is no one giant step that does it. It’s a lot of little steps.” – Peter A. Cohen

Sometimes, we just want to do many things all at once: give extra time to your family, take a business course, learn how to swim, or read one book a week. We build such a high castles of desires, and then it seems we just are not making progress at any one.

There are a few tips I think you would find helpful in making that progress you really want to see.

    1. Do not rush. Keep calm, and draw a plan. You cannot do all those many things you want to do in one day.

    2. Consistency. Give a little time to each activity every day. That way, you are making measurable progress. It could be as little as fifteen minutes, and as much as five hours.

    3. There is no balance, but a scale of priorities. When people say things like someone is able to balance work and marriage, though I understand what they are trying to say, but that is not entirely true. Where is the balance when your spouse is sick, and you have an important business trip to make? At that point, you choose what really matters to you.

    4. Technically, while you are busy attending your friend’s wedding, you might be missing an important business opportunity; while taking a part-time course, you are missing out on some family time, and while reading that book, you could have been sleeping or watching a movie.

    5. Making Time: There is no phase in your life when you would ever “ have time”; you “make time.” If it is important, you have to create time for it.

In essence, always know what is important at every point in time, but never be so caught up in life’s motions that you forget to live.

    Have a lovely new week!

  • You’d Be Amazed At What Was Used To Draw This Picture

Not everyone is born the same. Sometimes life throws us unfortunate events right from birth. Most of the time it is not fair and undeserved. But with a positive attitude, many have turned their situations into something truly awesome. Many like Paul Smith who was born with severe cerebral palsy, a disorder that causes physical disability.

In the video, it seems he is typing some words, but no, he is drawing.

He was born with severe Cerebral Palsy, yet Paul Smith has created hundreds of works of art using a typewriter

His disorder makes using a brush or pen impossible, but as a young man, he discovered the keys to expressing himself using a typewriter. And using just 10 of the symbol keys, he creates outstanding works of art. He is called the ‘Typewriter Artist‘ and his story is truly inspiring.

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth. Even the all-powerful Pointing has no control about the blind texts it is an almost unorthographic life One day however a small line of blind text by the name of Lorem Ipsum decided to leave for the far World of Grammar.

The Big Oxmox advised her not to do so, because there were thousands of bad Commas, wild Question Marks and devious Semikoli, but the Little Blind Text didn’t listen. She packed her seven versalia, put her initial into the belt and made herself on the way. When she reached the first hills of the Italic Mountains, she had a last view back on the skyline of her hometown Bookmarksgrove, the headline of Alphabet Village and the subline of her own road, the Line Lane. Pityful a rethoric question ran over her cheek, then she continued her way.

On her way she met a copy. The copy warned the Little Blind Text, that where it came from it would have been rewritten a thousand times and everything that was left from its origin would be the word “and” and the Little Blind Text should turn around and return to its own, safe country. But nothing the copy said could convince her and so it didn’t take long until a few insidious Copy Writers ambushed her, made her drunk with Longe and Parole and dragged her into their agency, where they abused her for their projects again and again.

  • It’s Father’s Day!

To anyone taking care of a child(ren).

    Paying tuition fees

    Building a young one’s self-esteem

Teaching them life’s lessons through personal examples and great books

    Praying with them

Cheering them on as they try to create their own path in life

    Giving the necessary discipline

A nice hug and a kind word

Being the figure of authority in a child’s life

Protecting and providing regardless of any unfavourable circumstances

    You are a father.

And God is proud of you!

    Happy Father’s Day!

  • RIP Iron Lady…

Margaret Thatcher, Britain’s Iron Lady, dies at 87 of stroke. A potent political figure, she made history as the first female prime minister of Great Britain. May her soul rest in peace.
