  • Forgotten Your New Year Resolutions Already?

    I know its barely a week into the new year, but trust me, some people have already found themselves in this trap.

    Why is that we start the New Year off determined that this is the year to get our lives together? This year I’m going to eat better, loose weight, go to the Gym, give up drinking or whatever. We start with so much enthusiasm and determination. But some how a couple of weeks in, other things are more important, we run off time or steam and we slid back into our comfortable old habits.

    There are several reasons for this. Some people only make New Year’s resolutions because other people are making them. Also, sometimes we set the wrong goals for ourselves.

    So if you really want things to change you do need to put some effort in. Here are some ways to get back on track:

    1) Reconfirm to yourself what you want.

    2) Make sure that your goals are realistic

    3) Spend a few minutes every morning reading your goals and feeling what it will be like when you achieve them.

    4) Make a plan to achieve your goals

    5) Take small steps each day or each week to achieve your goal. A great man once said the way to achieve your goals is to underachieve each day.

  • 5 Tips For Keeping Your New Year Resolutions

    Hi SL Fabz, welcome once again to 2015!

    If your New Year’s resolutions from last year have gone unresolved, you’re not alone. Many of us had great aspirations at the beginning of last year and soon forgot about them as the months ran by.

    The simplest explanation for this is that our highest aspirations for ourselves often conflict with our daily desires. Many times, we have long term goals but don’t break it up into daily tasks to achieve each day on the journey to our goals.

    This year, stop the cycle of resolving to make change and then not following through. Here are 5 tips to help you get started:

    Be Realistic
    The surest way to fall short of your goal is to make your goal unattainable. For instance, resolving to NEVER eat your favorite food again is setting you up to fail. Instead, strive for a goal that is attainable, such as avoiding it more often than you do now.

    Keep The List Short
    It’s probably best to make two or three resolutions that you intend to keep. That way, you’re focusing your efforts on the goals you truly want. By setting only a few goals it helps us maintain focus and increases the chances of getting them done.

    Write Them Down
    Research has shown time, and time again, there is a huge percentage difference when one takes the time to put pen to paper, and write them down.

    Make A Plan
    Rather than stating one enormous goal, create a series of smaller steps to reach it. Have you ever heard the quote “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” Don’t let your goals be wishes. By actually planning and setting time lines your wishes just might come true.

    Track Your Progress
    Keep track of each small success. Short-term goals are easier to keep, and each small accomplishment will help keep you motivated. Instead of focusing on losing 10 kgs, focus on losing the first two. Keep a food journal to help you stay on track, and reward yourself for each two kgs lost.

    Happy 2015!

  • What Habits Are You Leaving Behind In 2014?

    It’s the last day of 2014! We made it through the end of the year. And while it’s always a good time to let go of negative or unhealthy habits – there’s power in doing it this time of year.

    What am I going to let go of? I’m going to let go of foods that don’t serve my highest potential, negativity, listening to gossip and anything that brings me backward in anyway.

    2015 is a clean slate for me and positivity and I’m gonna make best use of this new start to change a number of things in my life.

    How about you? What are YOU going to leave behind in 2014?

  • Wishes For The Year Ahead

    May God make the coming year a happy one!
    Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,
    But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;
    Not by making your path easy,
    But by making you sturdy to travel any path;
    Not by taking hardships from you,
    But by taking fear from your heart;
    Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,
    But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;
    Not by making your life always pleasant,
    But by showing you when people and their causes need you most,
    and by making you anxious to be there to help.
    God’s love, peace, hope and joy to you for the year ahead.

    I love you all!

  • Thank You For An Awesome Year!

    As the year draws to a close, I want to take a moment to thank you for allowing me to be an important part of your daily life. It’s my privilege to serve you with daily inspiration, features, tips, entertainment and more from Stephaniedaily and a responsibility I take very seriously.

    I am honored and humbled by sharing of myself with my blog family (yes, I think of you as my family not just fans). Thank you for all the lessons of life you have shared with me in this brief span of time …I will often visit the things we have shared here, and look forward to the things we have yet to share, moving along in the walk of time.

    As I reflect on my life this past year … I think of all the changes and all the things that have not changed…

    The one thing that stands out for me is that I have had some awesome and amazing people visit my life, leaving with me some wonderful times, some sad times, some deeply serious times and sometimes full of silliness and fun.

    This past year I have discovered how truly lucky I am to have family and friends who have supplied an incredible amount of support and comfort during my time of need. It is humbling to realize how much people care about you, and how much they are willing to do to help you.

    May I always treasure the moments I find myself in, and know that it is where I find all my past and my future…. and you all will be in it.

    I have a deep conviction that 2015 is going to be an even better year and I’m eagerly looking forward to the new year with anticipation. Let’s forget all our worries, heartbreaks, negativity, temper, hate and move into the new year with focus, positivity and drive.

    The best is yet to come!
