Lagos is a city where the hustle and bustle can be so over whelming, you have little time to treat yourself and your loved one to an intimate time. You wake up very early in the morning to meet up with work time and appointments, spend hours in traffic, and get home exhausted most of the time!
Just like many couples in Lagos, that was the story of Becky and Ben Elu. Becky, who was obviously very overwhelmed with her hectic daily routine and the demands of taking care of her little son reached out to me on my website for a chance to be a part of the Make Me Fabulous show. And she got more than a chance, she got picked because… well… I could totally relate with her story.
Here’s what she wrote: The reason why I should win this make over fabulous treat is that every day I have to wake up by 4:30AM and get ready for work, as a nursing mother because I & my husband would go and drop our baby in my Mum’s house and there’s no enough time.
Now tell me, who wouldn’t understand that! Sometimes it seems like 24 hours aren’t enough for one day right? What Becky and Ben needed was sometime away from their regular routine and a fabulous treatment.

They are so happy already.My desire for this couple was to give them a relaxed time away from their insanely busy schedules, and I’m glad we started achieving that earlier in the day.Now, its time for more surprises!Yes, you guessed right. We started with some shopping.First, we had to get some glam clothes for her at the Grey Velvet Store.And luckily, we had Celebrity Stylist Bubu Ogisi to help make the right choices.Next, the lovely team at Talise Salon & Hamam fixed up Becky’s hair.As well as a facial treatment…… and a body massage.Ben also got a haircut and a shave to get him looking dapper for his wifey!One more thing for Becky… A makeover!Many thanks to the professional Makeup Artist at House of Tara for getting Becky looking fabulous for her date.Here she comes, looking all sparkly and smiley.Ben can’t believe she’s the same woman he left home with that morning.So overwhelmed, he lifts her up in his arms.They both settle down for a romantic dinner.After which I stepped in to surprise the couple.I felt so glad Becky had a lovely day.And even more fulfilled when Ben used such lovely words to describe his wife and his entire experience.Many thanks to our sponsors: LG Electronics, Swatch and Nichole by HaguannaThey totally loved the giftsI’m so glad I got a chance to meet the Elu’s and give them a fabulous treat. The joy that comes from giving couples a great time to spend with each other is one important thing that makes me and the entire Make Me Fabulous team fulfilled again and again.
For the past week, we’ve been shooting a reality TV series called Make Me Fabulous where we take couples away from the hectic demands of work for just one day and give them a special treat. The lucky woman would be treated to some hair, beauty and style transformation that is sure to get her husband or fiance excited. They would also have a lovely date and win some Fabulous prizes.
Becky Elu and her husband Mike Elu are the second winners of this series. Yesterday, we picked them up from their home in style, took them out for shopping and gave the woman a style transformation.
