  • 4 Ways To Refocus On Your Goals After Falling Behind

It happens to the best of us: Obstacles appear out of seemingly nowhere, leaving us wondering how to overcome them and continue on the path to achieving our goals.

Sometimes, a difficult challenge, a life change, a family event – could derail us from a goal we have set for ourselves. Sometimes, we willingly put a hold on our dreams to attend to other things, especially when trying to balance career and family and everything piles on your shoulders.

It’s important not to beat yourself up over what did not get done or accomplished. It’s also imperative to recognize that many of the obstacles that may have prevented you from reaching your goals were out of your hands.

Do you feel like you’ve fallen behind on your goals? Don’t panic! You can still get back on track and live your best life.

Here are four important steps to take if you’ve fallen behind on your goals:

    1. Define Why. If there’s something you want to do, make sure you clearly understand why. How will achieving this goal make you feel? Will you be more confident? Will it fulfill you and fuel you to work harder? Will it simply make you happier? Dig deep to find the real reason that’s driving you and focus on that.
    2. Take Action. Go to work right away on the most important task, and work until it is completed if possible. Switching between tasks does not speed things up, it has the reverse effect. It takes much longer to task switch than it does to focus on one task at a time.
    3. Set Accountable Goals. Make a to-do list or a goal list and be sure to set realistic goals. Identify the end goal you want to accomplish. Make a to-do or task list of steps to take to accomplish that goal. Set timeframes for each one of those tasks and a deadline of when you would like the goal accomplished.
    4. Celebrate Little Wins. Taking time to celebrate each success you have — whether it be big or small — is an important part of holding yourself accountable because it helps you build momentum and stay focused. Each win builds your confidence — it reinforces your “I can do this” mentality.

Remember, the most beautiful things in life take time. You’re not going to reach your dreams overnight. You have to stay patient. You have to keep putting in the effort, even when it feels like you aren’t making any progress. Remember, just because you feel like you are stuck in the same place doesn’t mean that’s the truth. Even baby steps matter.

  • Reinventing Yourself During A Pandemic

The year 2020 began with a lot of expectations and dreams, but for many people across the world, it has turned out to be one of the most uncertain years ever!

But hey, it’s not all doom and gloom. The interesting thing about a crisis period such as this is that it gives us the opportunity to reinvent ourselves. For me, I’ve had to dig deep and think creatively in order to react to a rapidly changing landscape. Business structures have been affected, travel plans have been canceled, events have been put on hold… there’s so much change to deal with.

But the pandemic should not stop us from reinventing our career and our goals. Actually, it’s the perfect time to do so.

As we begin the second half of 2020, I want to encourage us all to reinvent ourselves, our business ideas, our dreams, our capabilities. This pandemic will result in lasting societal changes. There is no going back to the pre-COVID status quo. We have a new reality, but that doesn’t mean we should dream any less or limit our expectations.

I challenge you to use this crisis to reimagine and stay on track with your dreams. We will all emerge from this season victoriously!

  • The Truth About The Sassy & Confident Woman

When she says she can be anything she wants to be, that’s not a lie. She is not saying that because she is proud and puffed up. She is not saying that to make others think that they are less than her. She is not saying that to make others feel intimidated.

She is saying that because it’s the honest truth.

She is the kind of woman who wakes up every morning feeling excited about her day and all that she can achieve. She is not where she wants to be yet, but she is working hard day and night to get there. Whenever she experiences a stumbling block or a rejection, she goes back to the drawing board and maps out a new direction to achieving her dreams. She never lets negative comments get the best of her. She is happy about other people’s successes and celebrates with them. She understands that everyone has their time and season and is not let down when things don’t seem to be working out for her.

She is passionate, she is creative, she is full of zeal. She believes in love and relationships and builds many lasting ones. She is good at making conversations with different classes of people and this makes her warm and enedearing. She is kind to all; old and young, rich and poor. She believes in people and what is inside of them and helps others realise their potential. She is the kind of woman you want to be around.

She is a good team leader and a great team member as well. It doesn’t matter who is giving directions, she is happy to follow them as long as they are good. She is opinionated but she is a great listener, she is tough when she needs to be but gentle at the same time.

She dreams big, really really big. She is able to get people to believe in her dreams because the ultimate goal with all of her aspirations is to touch people’s lives in a positive way.  She has a good relationship with people in powerful positions, but has the humility of your girl next door. She is sassy, she is confident and she is you!

  • Sunday Thots: Your Dreams Are Not Too Big For God

If God gives you a blank cheque, and asks you to write anything you want on it, what would it be?

I know many of us think it is impossible for us to receive something so big from God, but the truth is, we already have it. We already have that blank cheque in our hands as children of God but sometimes limit ourselves, our dreams, and think that they are too big for us.

I’d like to encourage us today with these words: If your dreams don’t scare you, they’re not big enough.

God never gives you a dream that matches your budget. He’s not checking your bank account, he’s checking your FAITH.

Don’t let small minds convince you that your dreams are too big. When other people are scared and fearful, they project their fear onto you telling you what you cannot do. Ignore them. Go after your dreams with tenacity, boldness and readiness.

It’s the last month of the year, but it’s never too late for God. He can make things happen even at the last minute. So, do not limit yourself any more.

As you step into the new week, have it in mind that miracles start to happen when you give as much energy to your dreams as you do to your fears.

    Have a splendid Sunday!

    💚💗💛

  • Chase Your Dreams

When you wake up in the morning, you have two choices – you can go back to sleep and dream your dreams or you can wake up and chase those dreams.

I know it’s very easy to give up when we are faced with challenges, but there is so much we stand to achieve if we keep pushing on.

To the ones who still believe in dreams:

Chase them. Chase them until you’re out of breath. Then, keep running.

The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams and I want to encourage you today not to give up. The only time you should ever look back is to see how far you’ve come.

    Have a fulfilled day!

    xoxo

  • Dream, But Don’t Stop There

Everything starts with a dream, but shouldn’t end with a dream. If dreaming is all you do, then you’re in serious trouble.

Today, I came across this quote: “If you don’t build your dream, someone will hire you to help build theirs” by Tony Gaskin and found it to be so true. Many times we leave our dreams as dreams and take no step to achieving them.

Life is a journey full of challenges, if you don’t chase your dreams, you will never get what you want. If you don’t make a move you will always remain in the same place.

The problem is that when you don’t push yourself to achieve more than the standards of living, you never really know how far you could have gone in this life. Also, having a positive attitude is an explicit requirement, because a negative attitude makes us more likely to quit — or to never even begin in the first place.

But when that positive attitude becomes a constant habit of fantasizing, things go south really quick. Yes, that’s right, tirelessly dreaming about success is not constructive.

Too much dreaming turns positive thinking into mere wishful thinking. Dreaming by itself leads to nowhere worthwhile. Its time to make a resolve to turn your dreams into actions and those actions into fulfilled goals.

I wish you the very best as you live your dreams this week!

    xoxo

  • When I Was A Child…

    Stephanie Linus

When I was much younger, I used to dream of becoming a music artiste (who knows? maybe I still do… lol!).

I was in the choir, I loved singing (still do) and dreamt of being on some world stage singing to thousands of people. This was before I discovered my true passion in Acting.

I know many of us had different dreams as a child. At the time I was growing up, almost every young boy wanted to be a Pilot or an Engineer. Now it’s different. Boys want to be Footballers, Musicians and Politicians. The girls also dreamed of becoming Doctors and now they want to be Models. But the truth is that not many people end up becoming what they dreamed of as children. (more…)

  • It’s Not Too Late For Your Dreams To Come True

    Don't Give Up

It’s just a few days to the end of the year and I just thought to share this important message with you.

I was having a conversation with someone a while ago and she was complaining about how she hasn’t achieved most of her goals for this year. Funny, I felt the same way too. There are certain things I set out to achieve this year and its already looking like those things might not be fulfilled this year. But you know what? They are my dreams, they are still mine and definitely I will achieve them when God says its time.

It’s easy to feel depressed and focus on the negative things, the things you haven’t achieved. This is just a message to say focus on the positives and focus on your dreams.

Your dreams are bigger than you. Your dreams are planted deep within your heart by Life itself. Your responsibility is not to make them happen, but simply to say, “Yes.”

Along the journey to your dream’s fulfillment, you will face challenges that test you. In these moments things can sometimes seem tough. It can be easy to lose hope. You might sometimes wonder if your dreams will ever happen. You may even consider abandoning your dreams altogether, feeling as though you have given everything and not seen the light at the end of the tunnel.

These are the moments that it is easy to give up. These are the moments most people give in. But these are the very moments to LIVE everything you know deep in your heart.

If you are facing one of those challenging moments in life, but feel your dream to be truly authentic to your heart, then you must commit, continue and trust bigger than your fears.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas in advance. Look beyond your worries and put a smile on someone’s face this season!
