  • I’m Loving…. 12 Days Of Christmas

    Hey SL Fabz,

I hope you’ve had an amazing Christmas. Still in the spirit of the festive season, I’d like to share this lovely song with you.

I heard it recently and fell in love with it. Some African artists got together to give a different twist to the popular Christmas song ’12 Days Of Christmas’. It features artistes like 2Baba, Yemi Alade, Waje and lots more. Trust me, you’re gonna love this:

  • I Wish You A Very Merry Christmas 🎄

    It’s Christmas day!!

There is joy is in the air and we have so much to celebrate.

On behalf of my family, I pray that the joy of Christmas will shine brightly and reflect hope and good wishes into your lives.

This poem below sums up all I have to say to you today and I pray that the joy of the season will not cease in your homes this day and forever more 🎅

CHRIST THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

The greatest gift to all mankind
Came to put our past behind
To take away our shame and sin
To reconcile us to the father through him

This is a reminder of God’s infinite love
    This is indeed true love
    His kindness is immeasurable
Sent his son to us to make us able

Took away the sin which is a disease
Hunting the inner man with ease
Now the inner man is free
    Yet Christ paid the fee

Show love to others was what he said
Living this out was what he simply did
    The perfect example we follow
    The reason of my tomorrow

    The word became flesh indeed
Left heaven just for our need
The need for the salvation of our soul
In Christ we are made whole

We celebrate his birth but better is his coming
For God is good and ever loving
For he has called you as his own
So he will never leave you alone.

    Merry Christmas

The GS4 model becomes the first GAC-branded vehicles to be assembled in Nigeria since the auto firm ventured into the Nigerian market in 2013. Rather than importing directly from its plant in China, GAC Motor partnered with the SKD Project to build a plant where the vehicles were assembled locally. The SKD Project was introduced in Nigeria this year through CIG Motors, the sole distributor of GAC Motor in Nigeria.

During his address, Lai Mohammed lauded GAC Motor for their innovation and creativity, adding that he admired the company’s commitment to the development of the creative industry in Nigeria. He commended Chief Diana Chan for her generous donations to the promotion of Arts & Culture in Nigeria and called on the Nigerian people to embrace the GAC Motor range of cars.

  • Lai Mohammed Lauds the Creative Industry at GAC Motor’s GS4 Launch

The Minister of Information & Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has said that the creative industry is a major driver for revenue and tourism and should be given the support it needs to develop.

Speaking during the unveiling of the GAC Motor’s GS4 car in Lagos on Monday 12th December, he said that he was especially proud of the Nigeria’s creative industry.

“I’m very proud to be here today especially knowing the contribution of the GAC Motors in the area of culture, especially in the area of the creative industry and I wish them many more years of collaboration,” he said.

Alhaji Mohammed lauded GAC Motor for their innovation and creativity, adding that he admired the company’s commitment to the development of the creative industry in Nigeria. He commended the Chairman of CIG Motors’ sole distributor of GAC Motor in Nigeria, Chief Diana Chan for her generous donations to the promotion of Arts & Culture in Nigeria and called on the Nigerian people to embrace the GAC Motor range of cars.

He further added that we should do more as a nation to teach our youth about our history and culture.

“It is important that we must let our youth understand from a very early stage that a person without a culture is a person without a history, and a person without a history cannot have any future,” he said.

Alhaji Mohammed was joined at the launch by the General Manager of GAC Motors Yu Jun, Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka, the Oludo of Ido Oba Adeen Adedapo Aderemi, the Chinese Consul General Chao Xiaoliang and more dignitaries.

  • 7 Things You Shouldn’t Tell Your Friends About Your Partner

    Hi SL Fabz,

Today, I’d like us to discuss a very interesting topic – Relationships!

It’s totally natural for you to tell your closest friends about what’s going on in your relationship, but that doesn’t mean you should share everything. There is a difference between privacy and secrecy, and anytime you disclose private information, it is no longer private. You may have been saying a little too much to your girlfriends if you are guilty of sharing the following information too freely.

Unless your relationship isn’t that serious or is just starting up, it is abusive, or you are definitely breaking up or getting a divorce, it’s advisable keep your mouth shut about your relationship problems to friends and family. In other words, if you are in a serious relationship or are married and you want things to work out despite your difficulties, my advice is to keep things as private as possible.

Truly, there are loads of things you should not tell your friends about your relationship, but here are a few:

    1. Your partner’s income: This is especially for the ladies. How much your man earns is really none of your friend’s business. It is between you and your man and shouldn’t involve a third party, not even your girlfriend who has been with you since you were a toddler.
    2. His flaws and bad habits: If you tell your friends that your husband always leaves the toilet seat up or leaves his wet towel on the floor, they could blow that tiny flaw way out of proportion and upset you even more about the issue.
    3. The super intimate stuff: What happens in the bedroom, should stay in the bedroom. Never, and I mean NEVER, let out your intimacy details to your friends. It’s not only bad if your husband or wife gets to hear it from someone else, it’s just embarrassing. Only you can make your friends respect your spouse and the intimate details should be kept from even the closest of friends.
    4. When one of you cheats: Whether it was an emotional or physical affair, any acts that had you or your partner straying outside your relationship need to be kept quiet, especially if it does not lead to an end of the relationship. It’s common to want to vent to someone else say, your mom or your best friend, but that can irreparably damage their opinion of your partner. And while that may be not a bad idea if the two of you decide to separate, if you want to make a comeback it’ll be that much harder.
    5. What he thinks about other people: Everyone has their opinions about other people, both good and bad. If he criticizes someone to you, then he does it in the strictest confidence, so keep it to yourself or before you know it, that criticism could get back to the person he was talking about with some awkward consequences.
    6. Comparing: Unless you want your friends to think negatively about your partner, don’t compare them to others in front of your friends. We all go through ups and downs in relationships, it doesn’t mean you run off crying to your Friends about how your ex was so much better. These kind of things don’t go away, they usually travel to your partner somehow and it hurts them when they get to know how badly you talk about them and how little you try to make your friends respect them.
    7. Don’t tell your friend’s about your spouse’s past: This might sound like a nice story to tell about how you changed your player husband into a one-woman man, but to your girlfriends it’s probably a red flag. Once they know that your man has a shady past, they begin to expect the worst from him. If they don’t know about his wild past already then don’t disclose it.

So, let’s share our experiences. Do you have anything you’ve shared about your partner in the past that was later used against you? What other things about your relationships do you think must not be shared with your friends?

I’d love to read your comments!

  • Sunday Thots: Your Dreams Are Not Too Big For God

If God gives you a blank cheque, and asks you to write anything you want on it, what would it be?

I know many of us think it is impossible for us to receive something so big from God, but the truth is, we already have it. We already have that blank cheque in our hands as children of God but sometimes limit ourselves, our dreams, and think that they are too big for us.

I’d like to encourage us today with these words: If your dreams don’t scare you, they’re not big enough.

God never gives you a dream that matches your budget. He’s not checking your bank account, he’s checking your FAITH.

Don’t let small minds convince you that your dreams are too big. When other people are scared and fearful, they project their fear onto you telling you what you cannot do. Ignore them. Go after your dreams with tenacity, boldness and readiness.

It’s the last month of the year, but it’s never too late for God. He can make things happen even at the last minute. So, do not limit yourself any more.

As you step into the new week, have it in mind that miracles start to happen when you give as much energy to your dreams as you do to your fears.

    Have a splendid Sunday!

    💚💗💛

  • Common Skincare Mistakes You’re Probably Making

    Hey SL Fabz,

Let’s talk about our skincare today!

Whether you spend just 30 seconds every morning or have a dedicated pre-bedtime ritual, practically everyone has a skincare routine. Everybody wants to have a beautiful skin because it has always been an indicator of our inner health.

If you haven’t noticed any improvement in your skin’s condition despite your best efforts, you may want to consider these common skincare habits that could be keeping you from having the smooth, radiant skin you want.

Here are 10 common skincare mistakes I’ve been guilty of at one time or another. I hope we can all learn from them and make the necessary adjustments.

    1. Leaving Your Makeup On
When you’re exhausted after a long day at work, you might be tempted to curl up in bed and skip the whole makeup removal routine. This means you could end up with clogged pores and irritated skin. When you put makeup on, oil and dirt can become trapped in your skin throughout the day. Taking the time to remove all traces of makeup before going to bed helps keep your skin clean and lowers the risk of getting blemishes.

    2. Not cleaning your cell phone regularly
Think about how many times a day you touch your cell phone. Wipe down the screen at least once a week if not daily. Household cleaners can damage your phone’s screen, so look for a phone-friendly cleaner.

    3. Sleeping on a cotton pillowcase
Switch to silk. Satin or silk minimizes permanent creases and complexion issues on your face. Persistently pressing your face into a pillowcase causes trauma to the skin. Over time, this trauma aggravated by the friction of cotton can cause permanent creases as our collagen breaks down.

    4. Overusing scrubs
The more you scrub, the more damage you’re likely causing your skin.
Even if you don’t see any redness after your exfoliate, you could be harming skin below the surface. Over time, rubbing and scrubbing too hard can lead to wrinkles, especially within the delicate skin surrounding eyes. If you’re unsure of whether or not you should be exfoliating your skin, it can be a good idea to check with your dermatologist or other skincare professional.

    5. Cleansing with bar soap
Solid bar soap might seem like a standard skincare habit, but in reality, these soaps can leave a film on your skin that may lead to dryness or irritation. Instead, try a gentler liquid or even lotion-based face wash that can even help to moisturize your skin while cleansing it.

    6. Washing the face with water that is too hot or too cold
Water that is too hot or too cold is no good for your skin. Wash your face with slightly warm water. It will cleanse your face perfectly and won’t harm your skin.

    7. Not drinking enough water
A common skin mistake we make is not drinking enough water. It’s the easiest thing we should be doing, daily. Water is the best moisturizer you can gift your skin. If you are not drinking enough water you might notice blotchy and dehydrated skin. Doctors advise having minimum 2 liters of water everyday.

    8. Forgetting to moisturize
By applying moisturizers within minutes of getting out of a shower, you can combat everything from dry skin to more serious skin conditions like eczema and dermatitis. Moisturizing is very important and helps ensure that dry air and wind doesn’t pull moisture out of the skin and leave it flaking and cracking.

    9. Not using products formulated for your skin type

The reason you may not see improved results with your skincare products is that they aren’t suited for your skin’s unique needs. Find out what type of skin a product is formulated for. If you’re truly looking for results, it’s important that you use products exclusively formulated for the unique needs of your skin.

    10. Applying too much face powder
Many ladies tend to over-powder their faces when the weather is hot. Yes, face powder prevents you from looking too shiny, but it also clogs the pores. Too much powder only harms your skin. It’s better to use blotting papers, because they instantly soak up excess oil and remove shine from the face.

Do you have any other common skincare mistakes to add to this list?
