  • Talk To Steph: I Don’t Know What He Wants

    confused girl
    Dear Steph,

I met this guy a few months ago and we started dating shortly after. I told him I was a virgin and he was very happy about it, saying it was good of me to keep my virginity and he was going to respect my wishes to abstain from sex until marriage.

However, three weeks ago, he invited me to come spend the night at his place. When I refused, he suddenly became angry and hasn’t spoken to me ever since. He doesn’t pick my calls or reply my messages anymore. I’m confused now and I miss him so much. Do you think I should spend the night with him? I don’t know what he wants.

    I’m 19 years-old.

Let’s jump in with some good advice SL Fabz.

Christmas is almost here and if you’re wondering what gift you can give that special woman in your life, I have some ideas for you!

Christmas is a special holiday when almost everyone gives out gifts to their loved ones. Hence, this is the best time for you to show your girlfriend or wife how much she means to you. Prove your love to her by giving her an amazing gift for the holidays. Most men really panic when Christmas is approaching and they do not have any idea of what to get. Have a look at some interesting gift ideas for women:

    Personalised watch

    1. Personalized Gifts
With personalized gift items, you can have her name or a short message, embossed, carved, or printed on just about anything, from pens, to plates, to more luxurious items like wristwatches and jewelry. There’s absolutely no limit as to what you can customize. Moreover, since you are after unique presents for women, these presents are definitely the best option. Ordinary gifts do come and go but the personalized ones will be treasured forever.

    2. Jewelry
Women always appreciate jewelry so this is a great idea too. The best thing about jewelry is that they never go out of style so what you give her now will still look fabulous and trendy in the future. Some classic jewelry pieces that you can buy are gold bracelets, costume jewelry, beads, silver chains, diamonds rings, etc. There’s no way that you will go wrong with these ornaments as women naturally love all this.

    3. Gift Basket of Beauty Products
How about a basket full of the best skin care products? It’s no secret that women love anything beauty related so you simply can’t go wrong with this. You can either create your own gift basket by buying items individually and nicely wrapping them up in a basket or you can simply buy a ready-made gift basket.

    4. Gadgets & Electronics
The world today cannot function without electronics and gadgets. They are part of everyday life now so it makes sense to buy one for her as a gift. Mobile phones and laptops would be great because these are essentials that will help with her work and communication. Gadgets like iPods and tablets are for entertainment, just pick what she needs.

    date night

    5. Date Night
Lastly, something simple like a special date night can also create a big impact. The feeling is even more wonderful if you and your girlfriend have not gone out for a while. Make her feel your care and appreciation by gifting her your time. Besides, dates can spark romance and rekindle your relationship.

It will be Christmas soon and it’s one of the best times to display your affection to your girlfriend and let her know how thankful you are for her support and always being there for you. You want to convey your feelings in a unique manner. It’s is Christmas and she deserves a treat!

  • Fun Times At Obudu Mountain Resort!

    Stephanie at Obudu Ranch 1

    Hi SL Fabz,

It’s a beautiful day and I’m in such high spirits, I’m in the mood for recounting some fun memories.

Recently, I was in Ogoja, Cross River state where under our Extended Hands Foundation and with support from Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company/NNPC, we carried out some free surgeries for women living with Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF). I’d still bring you more details of that program, but today, I want to share with you what we did afterwards.

After the surgeries, some of the doctors, nurses and I headed over to Obudu Mountain Resort for a time to relax after the exhaustive two weeks program.

Our ride in the Table Mountain Cable Car was so much fun. There was this brief scary moment when the it stopped mid air. You should have seen the look on my face then! We were high above the mountains! But it came back on in some seconds and we continued our ride.

When we got down at the other side, it was time for some adventure. I had a great time walking on the small bridge that ran through the forest.

Interestingly, I ran into some of my fans and it was fun meeting them and taking pictures with them too.

In all, it was a fun-filled adventure with beautiful and relaxing scenery. I totally enjoyed myself and can’t wait to visit there again.

  • Dancing In The Rain

    Dancing in the rain

The weather in Lagos can be very unpredictable. One minute its all sunny and the next its cloudy and wet.

I woke up this morning with high expectations for the day. Wanted to go out and and have some fun but then… sheesh… it came pouring down and down went my plans too.

So I’m just gonna cozy up with you know who *wink* today and maybe go out later on.

Somehow, I’m fondly reminded of those days when I was a kid and I used to play in the rain with my sisters. It was always so much fun. We had no care, we had no worries, we would just let our hair down and enjoy the beauty of the rain.

It kinda reminds me of the lyrics to 2face Idibia‘s song ‘Dance In The Rain‘.

Forget about tomorrow live in today
Tomorrow will be fine so don’t let your worries
Take away the beauty of today
Just bask in the sun and dance in the rain

So true. Some times we need to just relax and forget about tomorrow’s worries.

Enjoy the beauty of the day people and tell me what you’re up to this weekend!!

  • The World Has Lost An Icon… R.I.P Nelson Mandela

    Nelson Mandela

For as long as I can remember, Nelson Mandela has always been one of the world’s most respected leaders. I grew up with everyone around me, and I mean EVERYONE having nothing but kind words, admiration and respect for this great man.

It is very unusual to find a man so loved and respected by people from many nations.

This is someone who emerged from 27 years in apartheid prisons bearing so little malice. “As I walked out the door toward the gate that would lead to my freedom, I knew if I didn’t leave my bitterness and hatred behind, I’d still be in prison,” Mandela said after he was freed in 1990. Such a rare, forgiving heart!

Mandela is known for many great things. He led South Africa’s transition from white-minority rule in the 1990s, after 27 years in prison for his political activities.

Many tributes have been pouring in for the late leader since he passed on some hours ago, but one that really sticks to my mind is that of his fellow campaigner against apartheid, Archbishop Desmond Tutu who said he was “not only an amazing gift to humankind, he made South Africans and Africans feel good about being who we are. He made us walk tall. God be praised.”

An icon has gone to rest and he will truly be missed. Rest In Peace Sir. You truly were an icon, a freedom fighter, a role model, a great leader and much more.

When you think of Mandela, what words come to mind? Describe him in a few words.

  • Stephanie’s Poll: Is Age Really Just A Number?

    age is just a number

    STEPHANIE’S POLL

Hi dearies, it’s time for our Q’s and A’s, I ask and you answer. The question for this week is:

Would you cancel your wedding if you find out some weeks before that your spouse has been lying about his or her age? For instance, if your wife to be is actually 5 years older than she says she is or if your husband is 5 years younger than he says he is.

Is age really a determining factor in love and marriage? I’d like to know what you think.

    Please share your thoughts

  • Staying Fit in our Busy World

    Stephanie Daily Pics - December 2013 - StephanieDaily009

    Hello lovely people!

Its the last month of the year and I know that like me, many of us set out some goals we wanted to achieve with regards to our weight and fitness at the beginning of the year. But with the demands of our busy schedules, especially when you live in a bustling city like Lagos, you might have had a difficult time achieving those goals.

Not to worry, its not too late to boost our spirits and get back to our routines. Here are some ways that you can juggle exercising with your busy work schedule:

    1. Wake up in the morning to exercise
Waking up an hour earlier to exercise in the morning helps you function better during the day. It gives you a better cardiovascular impact, you’re able to have more consistent workouts and more energy throughout the day.

    2. Walk/Ride your bike to work
I know this may be difficult in most cities and also if you live far from work. But if you can, take a walk or ride your bike to work. It really helps.

    3. Work out during your lunch break
Most people have at least a half hour break during work. That is enough time to squeeze in a short workout. You can take a walk outside, or walk around your building or street.

    4. Use exercising as a way to socialize
Instead of going out to eat, go for a walk or short run with your friends and catch up while you are at it.

    5. Make a commitment
I know it might be difficult, believe me I do, but physical activity is SO important to our lives. Take some time to re-evaluate where you are spending unnecessary time and focus on doing those important things for your health and fitness.

So, share with me, how do you find time to work out despite your busy schedules? Have you achieved the fitness and health goals you set for yourself at the beginning of the year? I’d love to know.

    xoxo
