  • The Blame Game

“The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny.” – Albert Ellis, psychologist

It is important we realise that we are the architects of our own life, and we should take full responsibility of the outcome. I know there are many people you’d rather want to blame for the challenges you face daily; they may be a part of the problem, however you are always a bigger part of your failure or success. It all depends on how willing you are to move on, forgive, shut the door, re-strategize, ignore, overtake, overcome etc.

Win at life by owning it.

    It’s your life.

This is your only chance- this minute that you are alive, make it count!

    Stop the blame Game.

  • Phenomenal You!

If you are phenomenal, say “Yay!”

We may have lost Maya Angelou, but her legacy stay with us.

I am relishing one of her best works this morning and I thought to share.

You may have read it before; it’s always good to read such powerful words every now and again…

    Phenomenal woman, that’s me!

    Enjoy!

    Phenomenal Woman

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.

I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size

But when I start to tell them,

     They think I’m telling lies.

     I say,

It’s in the reach of my arms,

     The span of my hips,

     The stride of my step,

     The curl of my lips.

     I’m a woman

     Phenomenally.

     Phenomenal woman,

     That’s me.

     I walk into a room

Just as cool as you please,

     And to a man,

     The fellows stand or

     Fall down on their knees.

     Then they swarm around me,

     A hive of honey bees.

     I say,

It’s the fire in my eyes,

And the flash of my teeth,

     The swing in my waist,

And the joy in my feet.

     I’m a woman

     Phenomenally.

     Phenomenal woman,

     That’s me.

     Men themselves have wondered

     What they see in me.

     They try so much

     But they can’t touch

     My inner mystery.

When I try to show them,

They say they still can’t see.

     I say,

It’s in the arch of my back,

     The sun of my smile,

     The ride of my breasts,

     The grace of my style.

     I’m a woman

     Phenomenally.

     Phenomenal woman,

     That’s me.

     Now you understand

Just why my head’s not bowed.

I don’t shout or jump about

Or have to talk real loud.

     When you see me passing,

It ought to make you proud.

     I say,

It’s in the click of my heels,

     The bend of my hair,

     The palm of my hand,

     The need for my care.

     ‘Cause I’m a woman

     Phenomenally.

     Phenomenal woman,

     That’s me.

    —Maya Angelou

  • 5 ways to soar into a new week!

Let’s help you through 5 ways to a smooth daily ride!

Get rest: Wake up feeling refreshed, energized and ready to go! Getting, at least, 8 hours of rest is the first step to approaching a new day with enthusiasm and drive.

Eat breakfast: It is important. Breakfast gives you that oomph to start off brilliantly. A plate of oatmeal, two slices of bread or maybe just an apple can be the healthy way to having a great day.

Write it down: It is time to own a jotter or a diary where you organise your thoughts and plans for the week appropriately. Writing your daily/weekly plan helps you stay focused on the things that are truly necessary.

Be positive: It is one of the important methods to success. Life is hard as it is, you do not need to generate negative vibes to deal with the hustle of life. Think positive, stay positive. If you allow the negativity around you affect you, you will struggle through many paths. Do no be ashamed to look up to heaven and ask God for the grace to stay positive.

Work out: It will help your body, mind and soul. Exercise is the one secret to a wholly sufficient life. You’ll be amazed how much anxiety and fear you’ll lose by jogging and doing your aerobics, climbing up stairs or taking a walk.

Have a great Monday, and the rest of the week!

  • It’s Father’s Day!

To anyone taking care of a child(ren).

    Paying tuition fees

    Building a young one’s self-esteem

Teaching them life’s lessons through personal examples and great books

    Praying with them

Cheering them on as they try to create their own path in life

    Giving the necessary discipline

A nice hug and a kind word

Being the figure of authority in a child’s life

Protecting and providing regardless of any unfavourable circumstances

    You are a father.

And God is proud of you!

    Happy Father’s Day!

  • Kefee is gone!

    Oh Death!

Kefee is gone. Oh death, why?

We lament because she was so young, so full of life.

She had her whole life ahead of her…

Dreams to accomplish, love to savour…

Her music was beautiful, inspiring, sweet to hear

    She is gone now.

    Death, why oh why?

There are just never enough words to express how cheerless this makes me feel

She will be missed- by Nigerians and her fans, family and friends.

    Rest in Peace, dear one.

Today, I heard the shocking news that Amaka Igwe has passed on.

Oh! How we’ve lost a great one!

I’ve lost a friend, a colleague, a mentor, a trailblazer in the industry. I’d remember her for her smile, her courage, her friendship and her determination to raise standards in every thing she does.
