  • The Truth About The Sassy & Confident Woman

When she says she can be anything she wants to be, that’s not a lie. She is not saying that because she is proud and puffed up. She is not saying that to make others think that they are less than her. She is not saying that to make others feel intimidated.

She is saying that because it’s the honest truth.

She is the kind of woman who wakes up every morning feeling excited about her day and all that she can achieve. She is not where she wants to be yet, but she is working hard day and night to get there. Whenever she experiences a stumbling block or a rejection, she goes back to the drawing board and maps out a new direction to achieving her dreams. She never lets negative comments get the best of her. She is happy about other people’s successes and celebrates with them. She understands that everyone has their time and season and is not let down when things don’t seem to be working out for her.

She is passionate, she is creative, she is full of zeal. She believes in love and relationships and builds many lasting ones. She is good at making conversations with different classes of people and this makes her warm and enedearing. She is kind to all; old and young, rich and poor. She believes in people and what is inside of them and helps others realise their potential. She is the kind of woman you want to be around.

She is a good team leader and a great team member as well. It doesn’t matter who is giving directions, she is happy to follow them as long as they are good. She is opinionated but she is a great listener, she is tough when she needs to be but gentle at the same time.

She dreams big, really really big. She is able to get people to believe in her dreams because the ultimate goal with all of her aspirations is to touch people’s lives in a positive way.  She has a good relationship with people in powerful positions, but has the humility of your girl next door. She is sassy, she is confident and she is you!

You will never suffer dryness and so shall it be by the grace of God, Amem.

  • Here’s One Simple Trick To Getting Yourself Motivated

Everyone gets unmotivated at times. Trust me, it happens to all of us. In fact, sometimes we get into such a slump that even thinking about making positive changes seems too difficult.

You make goals… but then you procrastinate.

You write a to-do list… but then you don’t follow through.

And this happens again and again and again. Seriously, what’s the problem?

Why are we so good at thinking of what to do but so terrible at actually doing those things?

We all face obstacles. How you deal with those obstacles defines who you are and determines how successful you are in life. Here’s one simple trick I’ve found that always works to motivate me when I feel down:

    Set SMALL AND SPECIFIC GOALS.

Motivation requires a target. It’s hard to get motivated when your goals are vague, undefined, and as a result, impossible to achieve. You will be more motivated if you define your goals and break them down into smaller goals that you can take bites out of accomplishing on a regular basis. Make sure your smaller goals are still meaningful to you and be sure to break them down into things you can actually accomplish otherwise your motivation will tank.

If you complete the task and still itching for more? You can always raise the bar if you’re feeling particularly motivated. Take note that if you feel highly overwhelmed while tackling your goal, chances are it’s too high and you need to lower it to something more realistic or specific.

When you have finished that small task you’ll feel more alert and ready to go do the next thing. You just to get started to get motivated.

You cannot maintain energy and focus if you are trying to do two or more goals at once. It’s not possible — I’ve tried it many times. You have to choose one goal, for now, and focus on it completely. I know, that’s hard. Still, I speak from experience. You can always do your other goals when you’ve accomplished your One Goal.

So if you really don’t feel like doing anything, start with something small and work your way up.

  • What Do You Feed Your Mind?

    Hey SL Fabz!

    I trust you’re having a beautiful weekend.

I recently had a conversation with someone about the importance of feeding your mind with positive things which I want to share with you today.

Do you know that anything you expose your senses to, begins to program your mind thereby creating your reality? You can fill your mind with negative or positive things. The choice is yours.

What comes out of your mouth is determined by what goes into your mind. You are the books you read, the movies you watch, the music you listen to, the people you spend time with, the conversations you engage in. Choose wisely what you feed your mind.

Your mind will always believe everything you tell it. Feed it faith. Feed it truth. Feed it with love. The more you feed your mind the healthy thoughts it needs, the stronger you become.

Don’t let people and situations weigh you down. Take charge of what goes in to your mind today. What you tell yourself will either lift you up or tear you down. Choose the positive side!

I hope these words encourage you and I wish you the very best of the weekend!!!

    xoxo

  • Comparison: The Greatest Thief Of Joy

This quotation, from Theodore Roosevelt, argues that comparing your work, your life, or whatever else will only serve to make you unhappy. Why? This is because, in most cases, comparison is corrosive. It eats away at your ability to be content and confident. It is a poison that kills the love you have for yourself.

I am sure that if you think about it you have your own list of qualities you envy in others, and also a list of qualities people envy in you. The point is, we all have a unique makeup of skills, faults, blessings and infirmities that make us who we are.

It’s so easy to compare ourselves to others. When we do that, we simply do not measure up. We tend to compare our worst with another person’s best, and that makes us feel terrible. We feel we are too flat or too curvy, too little or too big, not enough or too much. And it doesn’t feel good.

Comparing ourselves to others simply removes focus from what we should be excited about within ourselves.

So don’t hold yourself up to some outside vague standard of greatness. Judge your work by your principles and leave comparison out of the equation.

  • Everyday Is A Fresh Start

It does not have to be January 1st to give yourself a chance to make the most out of your day and your life. Today is the beginning of the rest of your life.

Don’t start your day with the broken pieces of yesterday. Everyday is a fresh start. Each day is a new beginning. Every morning we wake up is the first day of our new life.

Today you have a blank slate, a moment for you to create a life you love and that loves you back in return.

Don’t dwell on old news, and things you can no longer change. It is never too late to change things that are not working in your life and switch gears, instead of thinking in the same old ways, hoping for a different outcome.

It is a new day, a new start. The beginning of a new life awaits you.

I wish you the very best in everything you do. ❤️

  • Making Your New Year’s Resolution Stick

    Hi SL Fabz,

It’s already one week into the new year!

How have you been faring with your goals and new year resolutions? Great I hope.

It is important to remember that the New Year isn’t meant to serve as a catalyst for sweeping character changes. It is a time for people to reflect on their past year’s behavior and promise to make positive lifestyle changes.

This year, stop the cycle of resolving to make change and then not following through.

Yes, I’ve been there before. I’ve resolved to do things at the beginning of the year and ended up forgetting about it some weeks later. However, here are some tried and tested ways I’ve used to make my new year resolutions stick.

    1. Start Small
Make resolutions that you think you can keep. If, for example, your aim is to exercise more frequently, schedule three or four days a week at the gym instead of seven. If you would like to eat healthier, try replacing dessert with something else you enjoy, like fruit or yogurt, instead of seeing your diet as a form of punishment.

    2. Talk About It
Don’t keep your resolution a secret. Tell friends and family members who will be there to support your resolve to change yourself for the better or improve your health. The best-case scenario is to find a buddy who shares your New Year’s resolution and motivate each other.

    3. Track Your Progress
Keep track of each small success. Short-term goals are easier to keep, and each small accomplishment will help keep you motivated. Instead of focusing on losing so much weight at a time, focus on losing it bit by bit. Keep a journal to help you stay on track, regardless of what your goal is.

    4. Ask For It
Want more money? Ask for the raise. Want a different job title? Tell your boss. People are too busy and too focused on themselves to think of your goals and your needs. So rather than waiting for someone to shine the light on you, do it for them. The old adage, “ask and you shall receive” works most of the time.

    5. Make It visual, Get Creative
Write down your goal on paper or, even better, make a “resolution binder” where you put down your ideas. Elaborate the end result with paper cuttings, drawings and write-ups. Jot down your favourite motivational quotes along with your personal reasons for doing this. Make it graphic and compelling enough. Make sure to paint a very clear picture of what it would be like to have what you’re working towards.

Robin Sharma has a formula for this:

    Focus + Time = Mastery.

“What you concentrate on, you cannot help but get great at. The more you focus, the better you get,” he says.

So, SL Fabz, what is your ultimate goal for this year?

  • 7 Ways To Avoid A Bad Day

    Good morning SL Fabz!

It’s gonna be a great day, I’m sure of it. However, I know that once in a while, things might not just start off on such a bright note for everyone.

Maybe you had a stressful time getting to work, or you’re in a bad mood and feel the rest of the day is not going to turn out fine.

I know that feeling. Not to worry, there are some things you can do to avoid having a bad day. I found some of these tips on Inspower and these ones stood out to me more:

    1. Wake Up On Time
While you need to wake up on time every day, make sure that you have ample time to eat breakfast and to plan your day. The worst thing you can do is to start off your day is being in hurry and running late to an appointment. When you do your body will be under stress, and if you repeat this every day over a period of time you risk ruining your health because of too much stress every morning.

    2. Take Short Breaks Whenever You Can
Sometimes every moment of our day feels like a struggle and in other to stay positive it is helps to take breathers or short breaks at intervals between missions. Use these times to rest your mind, breathe deeply and clear your head.

    3. Take A Nap
When all you want to do is avoid the world for a while, try taking a nap as it’ll fulfil your antisocial tendencies and let you recharge for a little there by refreshing your mood. Just make sure you do it in a way that won’t ruin your sleep that night.

    4. Focus On Tomorrow
Sometimes the simple thought that we are heading into a new day and the knowledge that I’ll get another chance at it in less than 24 hours is enough to brighten us up. Make a game plan not to repeat whatever mistakes marred the day, and then just put all your focus in making tomorrow better.

    5. Be Nice To People
Though it is as old as time, but has never gone out of style, when in trouble be nice to people around you, try to step outside yourself and treat them the way you’d like to be treated. This will not only help you keep a healthy perspective, but you’ll be more likely to maintain those healthy relationships.

    6. Be Calm And Only Speak In A Pleasant Tone
Yelling never solves any problem and will only worsen a bad day, try been calm for a change and talk to people in a pleasant tone even when you are seething inside this helps to rid us of our anger and calm our nerves.

    7. Have Something To Look Forward To At The End Of The Day
Sometimes we do need a prize or focus to keep our drive alive. When you feeling the day might be heading in the wrong direction, keep a focus. Just like the kid that uses the thought of chocolates to get through his homework, look forward to something you like to help you get through the day.

I wish you an awesome day!

    xoxo
