  • 10 Inspiring Quotes on Beyonce’s Birthday

    Beyonce is 36 today!

She has touched many lives in different ways. That is the power of entertainment.

On this special occasion, let’s share 10 inspiring quotes from the incredibly successful artiste:

“When you love and accept yourself, when you know who really cares about you, and when you learn from your mistakes, then you stop caring about what people who don’t know you think.”

“We all have our imperfections. But I’m human, and you know, it’s important to concentrate on other qualities besides outer beauty.”

“For me, it’s about the way I carry myself and the way I treat other people. My relationship and how I feel about God and what He does for me, is something deeply personal. It’s where I came from, my family, I was brought up in a religious household and that’s very important to me.”

“I always try and go against the grain. As soon as I accomplish one thing, I just set a higher goal. That’s how I’ve gotten to where I am.”

“I use the negativity to fuel the transformation into a better me.”

“We all have our purpose, we all have our strengths.”

“I don’t like to gamble, but if there’s one thing I’m willing to bet on, it’s myself.”

“The reality is, sometimes you lose.”

“Power means happiness; power means hard work and sacrifice.”

“If everything was perfect, you would never learn and you would never grow.”

  • Award Night! Amaa 2017

It was a relaxing night for me without the pressure of being a nominee. Last year Dry won best Nigerian film and best child actor at the Amaa’s, so it was quite exciting to relax and enjoy the evening. I wore the lovely dress by NF by Nour and my glam squad did the subtle natural look that I love. I hope you like the look…

    Hey lovelies,

  • Vice President of Gambia Isatou Njie-Saidy, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) host ‘DRY’ in Gambia

    Hey lovelies,

I trust you’ve been having a great day so far!

So, my award winning movie, DRY, recently made a debut in Gambia with a well-attended screening during the African Youth Summit Banjul Plus 10. The movie was not only well received and greeted with a standing ovation afterwards, but was lauded by all and further opened up the conversation around maternal health care and Fistula in Africa.

The audience was made up of distinguished personalities including the Vice President of Gambia, Dr Isatou Njie Saidy; UNFPA Regional Director for West & Central Africa, Mr Mabingue Ngom; Assistant Minister for Youth Liberia, Ms. Kula Fonfana and many others.

The summit was organised in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to capture the creative, innovative and pro-active voices of African youth and utilize these voices as a tool to encourage decision makers to address the myriad issues young people on the continent face. It focused on discussions around reinforcing implementation of the policy frameworks in Africa and their pivotal role in harnessing the youth potentials to attain the Demographic Dividend and Africa’s inclusive growth and sustainable development.

Inspired by the true story of a young girl living with Vesico Vaginal Fistula, DRY features Darwin Shaw as Dr. Alex, the legendary Liz Benson Ameye as the Matron and Bill McNamara as Dr. Brown. The movie also stars Zubaida Ibrahim as Halima, the teenager who had to endure a life not designed for a child: to be married to a man who was more than four times her age.

This screening comes just a few weeks after the DRY premiere in Zambia which was attended by the Zambian First Lady, Mrs Esther Lungu.

DRY is currently on an African tour and will be showing in other countries in the coming weeks.

  • This Picture Made Me Laugh Out Loud!

    Babies are the cutest 🙂

A friend sent me this picture a while ago and I haven’t stopped laughing since. I can totally relate to that! It’s so funny and adorable at the same time.

Sometimes with my son #PrinceMax, it is the very moment you take off his diaper that he would decide to relieve himself. And he can do so in such an interesting angle that it would land right in your face if you’re ‘lucky’.

This is one photoshoot the little boy’s parents would never forget. The look on the mother’s face is priceless. And the cutest part will be when he grows up to see this.

Taking pictures is a great way to preserve great memories. Pictures like this remind me of such.

Any mums, dads, aunties, uncles or caregivers in the house? Please share some stories of interesting moments like this with your little ones that made you laugh out loud. Or perhaps, do you have any childhood photo where you were doing something really funny. Let’s hear your story!

    xoxo

Happy Sunday Lovelies! I trust you’re having a relaxing day.

I’m sure by now, you’ve heard about the big win at the recent Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) 2015.

Yay!!! DRY won three awards including the most coveted award of the night:
Best Costume Design – Uche Nancy
Best Sound Editor – Marquex Jose Guillermo
Best Overall Movie In Africa – Stephanie Linus

the big winIt was such an honour to get such recognition for a movie with a deep social message and cause. I’m grateful to the organisers of the AMVCA, all our sponsors, cast and crew who believed in this project. I’m also grateful to you for your votes and for believing in us.

One of the big surprises of the AMVCA Night was the brand new GS5 Car which I won from GAC Motors. It was such a big surprise and it symbolizes a lot that I am grateful for. I recently picked up the car at an event organised by GAC Motors and their sole dealer, CIG Motors.

It’s really a lovely car and I can’t wait to start using it!

  • Fun Photos From The ‘Nolly Thursday’ Screening Of DRY

    Hey lovelies!

    I trust you’ve had a great week.

It was so nice to see some of you who came out for the special screening of DRY at Nolly Thursday, yesterday. The event which took place at the Genesis Deluxe Cinema, Lekki, Lagos was a fun one!

I always love getting feedback from my fans and viewers about my work and that’s one special thing I was able to get from this event. Aside from the interesting photo session, selfies and mingling which we had before seeing the movie, there was also a Q&A session after the movie where I had the opportunity to share a lot more with everyone.

I must say, I had an amazing evening! Thanks for the love, thanks for the selfies, thanks for a great time.

I mustn’t forget Falz The Badh Guy, the MC of the night who made it such a fun event.

Thanks to everyone who came. It was fun meeting you and watching DRY again with you all.

  • DRY is now on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Sony PlayStation & VUDU for viewers in the U.S.

    Hi everyone,

It’s a brand new week and I pray for brand new blessings for everyone of us!

This is great news for viewers in the U.S. DRY is now available on online platforms such as iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Sony PlayStation and VUDU.

We’ve recently signed a deal with ARC Entertainment for the film’s distribution in the U.S. and I’m so happy about this.

DRY focuses on child marriage and Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF), journeying into the heart-wrenching details of a culture not too many films dare to explore.

The journey has resulted in awards and nominations, with a successful international film festival screening tours. DRY was screened and won “best Protagonist” award at the Bentonville Film Festival, USA; official selection at the St Louis International Film Festival, USA; the Montreal Black Film Festival, Canada; Africa in Motion Film Festival, Scotland; and a screening at the Lancaster University, UK. DRY  also has been selected to screen at the Toronto Black Film Festival in early 2016.

So, if you are in the U.S., here are the platforms to watch DRY:

  • Photos From Linda Osai’s ‘Hot’ Transformation on the Make Me Fabulous Show

When a man wants to choose a wife, he looks for someone he is physically attracted to, someone who is pretty, and in most cases, someone who is hot.

Linda must have grabbed the attention of her husband while they were dating but after two kids and a few years of marriage, she didn’t look too ‘hot’ for her husband anymore.

This is how she put it on my blog Stephaniedaily when we called for entries for the show.

I’m a 29yr old mother of 2.just last week my husband told me that I have what it takes to be hot but I’m not hot, it hurt my feelings. Stephanie pls make me fabulous so that I can stun him, make his jaw drop.

I strongly believe that no other woman is supposed to make her husband’s jaw drop apart from his wife so I took Linda’s story really personal and together with the amazing team of stylists on the Make Me Fabulous show, we decided to give Linda a transformation that would stun her husband.

Linda and her husband live in Abuja, so they were chauffeured driven to the airport, flown down to Lagos where the treat of a lifetime began. For them, it was very refreshing to be in a new city and they eagerly looked forward to what the day would unfold.

For a fabulous time, we lodged them at the Avenue Suites, Victoria Island. After getting familiar with their suite, we took Linda out to start the transformation we promised her.

First stop was the Mango Store where she met with celebrity stylist Ebun Aboderin who helped her pick the perfect dress to wow her husband.

Celebrity hair stylist Nancy at Davnans Hair & Beauty Salon did her magic on Lynda’s hair to bring out that hidden beauty she’s always had. For that pampering touch to ease the stress away, the masseuse at Beauty Concerns gave Linda a full body massage.

Linda needed the perfect makeover and celebrity makeup artist Lola Maja was just the right person for the job.

After transforming Linda and making her look ‘hot’, she met up with her husband for a romantic dinner.

Here are some lovely pictures from their fabulous treat:
