NOTE: This treat is eligible for a family of four: Mother, Father and two children who reside in Lagos.

Please put your email address, phone number and location in the comment box. You can also include the ages of your children. (Your identity would be protected).

    Good luck.

  • 5 Tips For Keeping Your New Year Resolutions

Hi SL Fabz, welcome once again to 2015!

If your New Year’s resolutions from last year have gone unresolved, you’re not alone. Many of us had great aspirations at the beginning of last year and soon forgot about them as the months ran by.

The simplest explanation for this is that our highest aspirations for ourselves often conflict with our daily desires. Many times, we have long term goals but don’t break it up into daily tasks to achieve each day on the journey to our goals.

This year, stop the cycle of resolving to make change and then not following through. Here are 5 tips to help you get started:

    Be Realistic
The surest way to fall short of your goal is to make your goal unattainable. For instance, resolving to NEVER eat your favorite food again is setting you up to fail. Instead, strive for a goal that is attainable, such as avoiding it more often than you do now.

    Keep The List Short
It’s probably best to make two or three resolutions that you intend to keep. That way, you’re focusing your efforts on the goals you truly want. By setting only a few goals it helps us maintain focus and increases the chances of getting them done.

    Write Them Down
Research has shown time, and time again, there is a huge percentage difference when one takes the time to put pen to paper, and write them down.

    Make A Plan
Rather than stating one enormous goal, create a series of smaller steps to reach it. Have you ever heard the quote “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” Don’t let your goals be wishes. By actually planning and setting time lines your wishes just might come true.

    Track Your Progress
Keep track of each small success. Short-term goals are easier to keep, and each small accomplishment will help keep you motivated. Instead of focusing on losing 10 kgs, focus on losing the first two. Keep a food journal to help you stay on track, and reward yourself for each two kgs lost.

    Happy 2015!

  • Thank You For An Awesome Year!

As the year draws to a close, I want to take a moment to thank you for allowing me to be an important part of your daily life. It’s my privilege to serve you with daily inspiration, features, tips, entertainment and more from Stephaniedaily and a responsibility I take very seriously.

I am honored and humbled by sharing of myself with my blog family (yes, I think of you as my family not just fans). Thank you for all the lessons of life you have shared with me in this brief span of time …I will often visit the things we have shared here, and look forward to the things we have yet to share, moving along in the walk of time.

As I reflect on my life this past year … I think of all the changes and all the things that have not changed…

The one thing that stands out for me is that I have had some awesome and amazing people visit my life, leaving with me some wonderful times, some sad times, some deeply serious times and sometimes full of silliness and fun.

This past year I have discovered how truly lucky I am to have family and friends who have supplied an incredible amount of support and comfort during my time of need. It is humbling to realize how much people care about you, and how much they are willing to do to help you.

May I always treasure the moments I find myself in, and know that it is where I find all my past and my future…. and you all will be in it.

I have a deep conviction that 2015 is going to be an even better year and I’m eagerly looking forward to the new year with anticipation. Let’s forget all our worries, heartbreaks, negativity, temper, hate and move into the new year with focus, positivity and drive.

The best is yet to come!

  • 10 Things Grateful People Don’t Do

True happiness and inner contentment happens when your heart is grateful for everything your life experiences – the good, the bad, the hard, the easy, the defeats and the victories. To achieve this level of gratitude, there are some things you should endeavour to remove from your life.

Stay away from these acts that grateful people avoid and watch your life turn around for the better.

    1. They don’t compare themselves to others.
    2. They don’t need to “feel” happy in order to be happy.
    3. They don’t compare their journey to anyone else’s.
    4. They don’t run from their imperfections.
    5. They don’t allow time to control them.
    6. They don’t forget the importance of relationships.
    7. They don’t overlook the value in everyday people.
    8. They don’t expect to get something in return.
    9. They don’t take life for granted.
    10. They don’t neglect themselves

Happy Sunday everyone! I wish you a fab week ahead.

  • After the storm, comes the sun!

We all go through difficult situations in our lives; it could be financial, a natural disaster that destroys our home and sense of well being, or it could be the sudden loss of a job or someone we love; whatever it is we can’t let these situations defeat us.

It’s OK to take a moment to reflect and even cry but, once we let it all out, we have to wipe our tears away and move forward.

There will be times when we find out just how strong we really are, and that we can overcome any obstacle that falls in our path, if we just believe in ourselves, and never give up.

Don’t forget to smile when times are tough, take time to smell the roses, and to get rid of negative thoughts because when you are going through a difficult time you definitely need something positive to focus on during the storm.

  • These Touching Acts Of Kindness Will Definitely Inspire You

Isn’t it so wonderful the way one act of kindness leads to another and in most cases, a good reward for the person being kind?

God is omnipresent, everywhere at once, and He sees every good deed of kindness, and love, and he repays! The Bible tells us He loves to pour out blessings upon us: Matt 25:40

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers, and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

We are all the least of these brothers and sisters! Acts of loving your brother begins with all of us.

I was deeply touched by this video below. Just a two dollar hot dog gave that homeless man a meal, and hope he may not have had otherwise. I invite everyone watching this video to do just one act of kindness everyday.

  • 5 Negative Words To Remove From Your Vocabulary

Negative self talk can do a great deal of damage to your self esteem. Words can shape our thoughts and help determine our actions. If you want to create a more positive outlook on life, there are negative words to remove from your vocabulary. You’ll be amazed by how much your attitude can change by altering the way you speak and think. Some of these words are:

    1. UGLY
When you look in the mirror to find that you have some pimples on your face, don’t claim that you look ugly. It’s one of the negative words to remove from your vocabulary if you want to be happier with yourself. Once you stop calling yourself ugly, aloud and inside of your head, you’ll start feeling more beautiful.

    2. CAN’T
Saying you can’t do something is a sure way to ensure your failure to achieve such a task. Like Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you’re right.” Your mind will believe the words you say and the thoughts you think.

    Choose them wisely.

    3. USELESS
Don’t ever trick yourself into believing that you’re useless. You may not have found your ‘purpose’ in life yet, but you’re still a valuable human being, so shower yourself in compliments. Treat yourself with respect.

    4. BUT
Stop. Stop! Stop! Please stop building a case against yourself. Stop rationalizing your excuses, procrastination or lack of productivity. “I want to do this, but…”, “I have always wanted to_________, but…” Stop making it so easy to talk yourself out of action. If you didn’t do something you said you would, or didn’t do something that you wanted to – own it, adjust, and move on. Don’t make excuses or rationales with the word ‘but’ because as we know, when we tell ourselves the same thing over and over again…we start to believe it. Don’t talk yourself out of your highest life.

    5. KILL
No matter how angry you get at someone, never tell them to kill themselves or claim that you want to kill them. Even though it’s clear you’re not being serious, it’s something that should never leave your mouth. Stick to saying peaceful things and you’ll become a more peaceful person.

SL Fabz, do you have any more negative words to add to this list? Do you agree that saying such negative words could affect your self esteem?

  • Be Inspired! 10 Top Quotes By Myles Munroe

The world is still in shock over the passing of Myles Munroe, his wife Ruth, and others in a plane crash. However, we take solace in the fact that he lived a fulfilled life and empowered many while he was alive.

He will be remembered for many of his famous quotes that were both thought provoking and inspiring. Today, I’d like to share with you 10 of them:

“Great leaders have no need for reputation. Reputation is what you are in public. Character is who you are in private.”

“The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but a life without purpose.”

“The poorest person in the world is the person without a dream.”

“The greatness of a man is measured by the way he treats the little man. Compassion for the weak is a sign of greatness.”

“You must decide if you are going to rob the world or bless it with the rich, valuable, potent, untapped resources locked away within you.”

“Hard work and diligence are essential to success, but they require an internal motivation. That internal motivation is vision.”

“If you have hope for the future you have true riches; no matter how much you have in your account.”

“Leadership is not about control but service. It’s not about power but empowerment. It’s not about manipulation but inspiration.”

“Don’t be pushed by your problems, be led by your dreams. Govern your life by priorities not your pressures.”

“Life is not measured by duration but by donation.”

    I hope you’re inspired.

  • Sunday Thots: Scriptures That Signify The Importance of Your Faith

You might be passing through a difficult situation, you might have stopped believing that things will change, you might just need some encouraging words to boost your confidence…

I hope these Bible verses inspire you and help renew your faith in God.

“Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

    1. Ephesians 2:8

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.”

    2. James 2:17

“So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”

    3. First Thessalonians 1:2-3

“We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”

    4. Hebrews 11:6

“And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”

    5. Romans 10:17

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.”

    6. Hebrews 11:2

“By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible”

    7. Matthew 14:30-31

“But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

  • Watch Akinwunmmi Anu’s Inspiring VVF Repair Story

Yesterday, I shared with you photos from the recent Extended Hands Foundation pool effort in Ibadan and I was overwhelmed with your kind words and feedback. You really touched my heart in so many beautiful ways and I’m so grateful for all your prayers.

As it is with most of our pool effort, stories of a few of the affected women stand out from the rest. Not that any woman’s story is less important, but I was so touched by Akinwunmi Anu.

She is a young lady who developed Vesico Vaginal Fistula after labouring for three days at home since 2009. She later had a Cesarean Section but had complications afterwards. For 5 years, she suffered shame and discrimination as her friends and family ran away from her as she couldn’t control her urine and was constantly leaking.

As a result of the complication, she also stopped seeing her menstrual period. This troubled her for many years until recently when she had a successful surgery during the pool effort. This was made possible with the support of SNEPCo/NNPC.

I’m so glad we could bring a smile to her face once again. She had such a warm spirit and a beautiful smile for us all. Her satisfaction and restoration is what inspires us at Extended Hands Foundation.
