    Hey SL Fabz!

I found this online and thought to share:

Jack Ma is the founder of Alibaba, an e-commerce business.

    Hear him:

People lose out in life because of these 4 reasons:

    Being myopic to opportunity

    Looking down on opportunities

    Lacking understanding

    Failing to act quickly enough

You are poor, because you have no ambition.

Ambition is living a life of great ideals; a magnificent goal in life that must be realised.

In this world, there are things that are deemed unfathomable, but there is nothing in this world that cannot be done. The depth of one’s ambition determines the potential of one’ future.

Take the weekend to plan for your next success.

    Happy Friday!

  • #themoviedry addresses issues

The movie, Dry, deals with some very crucial issues that we must address as a society:

The #childnotbride is still a cause we must continue to pursue. Let the girl child be a child and pursue the things children dream about like an education, and building their interests, discovering themselves.

Domestic violence is a silent killer and we must begin to tell women that it is safe to take action to protect themselves and family from abuse

VVF: I have been part of the process of restoring new lives to women suffering from VVF. It is a common problem especially in the North and with Dry we get to see the stigmatization that comes with it.

We are counting down to the premiere of #themoviedry

Shocking statistics by UNICEF says that Nigeria will have the highest number of child brides by 2050…

It is disheartening that we are not throwing our weight behind this problem

It is indeed a troubling issue. How can we continue to justify giving our children away to marriage?

A child is supposed to be protected, educated and nurtured.

She is not yet an adult, regardless of her physical features.

A child is below 18, and at that age her guardians should ensure she is sheltered from harm.

Marriage for a child is harmful and portends trouble- psychologically and physically for the child.

Many cases of VVF is caused by early childbirth

These are the issue I address in my forthcoming movie, Dry.

This is a cause beyond just me, it is one that should interest every well-meaning Nigeria.

If you must have kids then you must protect your kids

    Marriage is for adults.

Let our voice not go under, let us not get tired. Let the conversation begin!

  • Verses of Encouragement

Hello SL Fabz! I found this on Christianpost.com and thought to share this lovely Sunday…

    ***

Whether it be a hard day at work, family trouble, health issues, heartache, depression, or a relationship that is causing stress in your life; there is always something in the Bible to look up to and lift us up when we are feeling down.

It is in God’s Word that we can find encouraging verses to uplift us and give us hope when we are down. For anyone who is feeling the “weight of the world” on their shoulders, cast your care upon the One up above whose shoulders are big enough to carry the burden for you.

Below are 10 Bible verses that will bring the peace you are searching for:

    1. “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” -Deuteronomy 31:8

    2. “I have set the LORD continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” -Psalm 16:8

    3. “When I am afraid, I will put my trust in Thee. In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can [mere] man do to me?” -Psalm 56:3-4

    4. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16.33

    5. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:6-7

    6. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” -John 14.27

    7. “You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” -Psalm 32:7-8

    8. ‘I have been in labor and hardship, through many sleepless nights, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure. Apart from such external things, there is the daily pressure upon me of concern for all the churches.’ -2 Corinthians 11:27-28

    9. “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles.” -Psalm 34:17

    10. “So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace.” -Romans 8:6

  • Answer this question…

What will you like to do if money was not a problem?

Think out of the box and let nothing hold you back!

  • Sunday Thots: Scriptures on Healing

The LORD sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness.

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

    Isaiah 58:8

Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.

    Jeremiah 17:14

    Hosea 14:4

  • What the Pope said…

It’s a new week and I would like to share something I read that could help make your week and the rest of your life blissful!

Pope Francis shared his own guide to happiness. It is so inspiring.

May we all attain happiness! These words will guide you:

    1. “Live and let live.” Which has a similar expression in Rome with the saying, “Move forward and let others do the same.”

    2. “Be giving of yourself to others.” People need to be open and generous toward others, he said, because “if you withdraw into yourself, you run the risk of becoming egocentric. And stagnant water becomes putrid.”

    3. “Proceed calmly” in life.

    4. Have a healthy sense of leisure. He said parents should set aside time to play with their children and turn of the TV when they sit down to eat.

    5. “Sundays is for family,” he says. That means rest is essential to happiness.

    6. Find innovative ways to create dignified jobs for young people. “We need to be creative with young people. If they have no opportunities they will get into drugs” and be more vulnerable to suicide, he said.

    7. Respect and take care of nature. Environmental degradation “is one of the biggest challenges we have,” he said. “I think a question that we’re not asking ourselves is: ‘Isn’t humanity committing suicide with this indiscriminate and tyrannical use of nature?’”

    8. Stop being negative. “Needing to talk badly about others indicates low self-esteem. That means, ‘I feel so low that instead of picking myself up I have to cut others down,’” the Pope said. “Letting go of negative things quickly is healthy.”

    9. Don’t proselytise; respect others’ beliefs. “We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyses: ‘I am talking with you in order to persuade you,’ No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytising,” the Pope said.

    10. Work for peace. “We are living in a time of many wars,” he said, and “the call for peace must be shouted. Peace sometimes gives the impression of being quiet, but it is never quiet, peace is always proactive” and dynamic.

Lovely! Have a great week, all!
