  • Is the grass greener on the other side?

    Not likely.

If you are going to enjoy life’s journey…if you are going to birth phenomenal ideas and pursue greater goals, you must understand that comparing or equating yourself to others will not only leave you depressed and unfulfilled, it will drive all of your dreams to nought. You are on this race alone. Yes, there are people and there are competitions; they all have their place! Your job is not to compare your neighbour’s car or house or wardrobe to yours; your job is to get your own life on the right track and live out your own purpose. Focus on what’s important. Half the time we worry and emphasize the insignificant whilst we leave the crucial areas of our lives unattended to.

The grass is green where you are; if you want it greener then you have to water it. You can get your grass green, and you can get it to wilt.

    It’s all in your power.

  • Tuesday Morning Inspiration!

    Know who you are:

It all starts from here- knowing who you really are and the things you’ll accept in your life. You can’t know what you want if you don’t know who you are. Who you are is who you say you are…and if you believe you are what you say you are then your actions and thoughts must align with that image of what you are.

Be consistent in building your personal brand.

Who you are will attract the (right) people and things and opportunities.

    So find yourself.

  • Are the kids reading?

If we want a better society, if we want change and development on the increase

If we want our economy to grow, our lives to flourish

If we want a brighter tomorrow, a future laden with possibilities…

It is important that we engage the little ones in the things that matter

    One of them is READING!

    Are we reading?

And are we encouraging the kids to read?

I am not talking academic materials only

They need to explore life through books

They need to visit the world through books

  • It’s July!

    Hello July!

It is the second half of the year.

There may be things you have hoped will happen in the first half, but it didn’t.

This is not the time to give up.

This is the time to try again and again and again…until something happens.

If you are certain it is what is right for you, do not rest on your oars.

Many things require spiritual knowledge so don’t starve your inner longing to know God.

Create a balance in your life.

And life will work out for you.

    Happy New Month!

  • Monday Mania!

This is how you should start your week!

Think of five exciting things you can do throughout the working week.

Let me give you some ideas:

    Build a new interest:

You can pick up a newspaper and read every single story in it. Read it, note the mistakes, learn something, build new vocabulary and just commit yourself to it.

    Engage an acquaintance:

There’s somebody on your phone or whatsapp you haven’t spoken to in months! Dedicate 30 minutes asking about how they are and what they are up to. Be genuine and give them what everybody in the world wants- attention!

    Pay attention to your diet:

You love ice-creams and burger; this week go on a diet! Drink more water and eat very little at a time. Stretch your meals into little bits through out the day, Try it, you’ll love how your body reacts to it. Don’t forget to take a fruit each day.

Get to the bottom of it:

If there’s an issue hanging around in your life- like a disagreement with a family member or a colleague. Take an hour or two this week to bring it up and work it out (baring in mind you may have to let the other person walk all over you this time). Nonetheless your soul will feel refreshed afterwards.

Look at life through new eyes:

When was the last time you stood on your balcony and looked up in the skies, look at the patterns at day, stare at the stars at night. Look around you and find something new to appreciate.

It’s going to be a great week!

  • The Bible and Forgiveness…

But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, Matthew 5:44

This is, by far, the most confusing Bible verse.

How do you forgive an enemy- someone who hates you or has offended you or doesn’t wish you well?

It is hard and almost inconceivable.

But God says we should. Then there must be a good reason we should.

-Because it is in forgiveness that lies all our joy and happiness.

If you let hatred live in you, you would live an insufferable life.

Forgiveness helps you- only you. It sets you free.

If you hold on to it, you can’t function effectively; you can’t win.

If you have hatred in your soul, God cannot work with you. He cannot help you.

So He says for you to enjoy the good life, for your prayers to be met, you have to let hatred go- once and for all. I will deal with the situation by myself, He says.

So free yourself of pain and bitterness.

Enter this new week with a forgiving spirit- for even the disappointments that are yet to happen.

    Cheers!

  • Conversation with self

Here are 10 things we should ask ourselves when the sun comes up:

Can I put a smile on someone’s face today?

The biggest achievement you can score is when you make someone else smile. It’ll brighten your own day and give you a sense of joy that compares to none. Reach out and touch someone. It could be something as little as helping them pick up a pen that fell on the floor or complimenting their looks.

Am I in a good state of mind to respond to that person?

We will always be confronted with issues we do not want to address. If someone is being rude or inquisitive, you do not have to follow their path. Create your own way and do not let their nastiness get to you. You may not be able to stop them from being nasty, but you can choose whether to respond or not. And that’s where the power lies.

Do I need to visit the doctor?

Your physical health and wellbeing is paramount to living a good life. Take care of yourself; visit the doctor and go for check-ups regularly.

    Who should I call today?

Make someone’s day, place a call for no reason order than the fact that you want to hear their voice and wish them a happy day.

What more can I offer today?

Give a little more of yourself and your abilities- at work, church wherever! Give more. Try harder. Do not withhold the good you can give.

Can I take a minute to pray?

Of course you can! Pray with ceasing. You need God all the way!

Can I shut all the noise?

Don’t let the chaos of cosmopolitan living get to you. The generators, the worries, the targets…it can all make you go crazy. Shut it all out; focus on your inner peace.

    What will be reading today?

Read! It is what makes a leader. Pick up a book, open a website, go through a magazine and get acquainted with life and society.

Can I stay positive regardless of how the day turns out?

Yes, you can. Positivity can happen to you regardless of what happens around you.

Can I find something to laugh about?

That’s the only way to keep the soul young. Laugh, be happy! And stay that way!

  • The Blame Game

“The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny.” – Albert Ellis, psychologist

It is important we realise that we are the architects of our own life, and we should take full responsibility of the outcome. I know there are many people you’d rather want to blame for the challenges you face daily; they may be a part of the problem, however you are always a bigger part of your failure or success. It all depends on how willing you are to move on, forgive, shut the door, re-strategize, ignore, overtake, overcome etc.

Win at life by owning it.

    It’s your life.

This is your only chance- this minute that you are alive, make it count!

    Stop the blame Game.

  • Phenomenal You!

If you are phenomenal, say “Yay!”

We may have lost Maya Angelou, but her legacy stay with us.

I am relishing one of her best works this morning and I thought to share.

You may have read it before; it’s always good to read such powerful words every now and again…

    Phenomenal woman, that’s me!

    Enjoy!

    Phenomenal Woman

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.

I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size

But when I start to tell them,

     They think I’m telling lies.

     I say,

It’s in the reach of my arms,

     The span of my hips,

     The stride of my step,

     The curl of my lips.

     I’m a woman

     Phenomenally.

     Phenomenal woman,

     That’s me.

     I walk into a room

Just as cool as you please,

     And to a man,

     The fellows stand or

     Fall down on their knees.

     Then they swarm around me,

     A hive of honey bees.

     I say,

It’s the fire in my eyes,

And the flash of my teeth,

     The swing in my waist,

And the joy in my feet.

     I’m a woman

     Phenomenally.

     Phenomenal woman,

     That’s me.

     Men themselves have wondered

     What they see in me.

     They try so much

     But they can’t touch

     My inner mystery.

When I try to show them,

They say they still can’t see.

     I say,

It’s in the arch of my back,

     The sun of my smile,

     The ride of my breasts,

     The grace of my style.

     I’m a woman

     Phenomenally.

     Phenomenal woman,

     That’s me.

     Now you understand

Just why my head’s not bowed.

I don’t shout or jump about

Or have to talk real loud.

     When you see me passing,

It ought to make you proud.

     I say,

It’s in the click of my heels,

     The bend of my hair,

     The palm of my hand,

     The need for my care.

     ‘Cause I’m a woman

     Phenomenally.

     Phenomenal woman,

     That’s me.

    —Maya Angelou
