On Make Me Fabulous this season, we introduced a ‘Talk To Steph’ segment on the show where I sit down with each couple and talk about their journey. It is usually a no-holds-barred session which gets very engaging. We chat about topics such as their motivation for coming on the show, some of the challenges they’ve faced in their marriage, their experience on the show and more.
My chat with Joyful and Temitope was a very interesting one. As married couples, we need each other’s support especially in difficult times. But when we get harsh words instead of that support, the pain cuts in deep and takes a long time to heal.
At some point Joyful bared her heart out about a certain way she felt during her pregnancy:
Most times, all it takes is a little understanding and a proper way of communication for couples to thrive in their relationship. It doesn’t help to lock up the hurt and pain we feel when our partners hurt us, so I was really glad when Joyful said she was going to release herself to her husband:

If there is one important thing about Make Me Fabulous that makes me feel fulfilled, it’s the fact that it challenges married couples to pour out their emotions in a way they didn’t think it possible. This Season, we introduced a Vow Renewal Ceremony where all the 13 featured couples renewed their marriage vows to each other in their own words. Prior to coming on the show, they had no idea we had this planned for them but we thought it would be a good way to strengthen their bond and it worked out beyond our expectations.
On Episode 2 which aired on Sunday 20th August, a unique couple – Joyful and Temitope – brought tears to the eyes of many viewers during their emotional vow renewal ceremony. Temitope, while saying very kind words, knelt before Joyful and promised to work with her to grow in their relationship. This totally warmed my heart and I just want to share that special moment with you today.

It’s another time to share photos from Make Me Fabulous with you and I’m so happy to share this particular episode. One unique thing about the couple we featured on Episode 2 – Joyful & Temitope – is that it was the husband who wrote in this time around for a chance to be on the show. Most entries we get on this blog comes from the women, and so when a man writes in, it’s always so special to us.
Temitope wanted to make his marriage with his lovely wife better and stronger and we’re glad we were able to make that dream come true.

Joyful was so excited to see the Next Page Productions team. She welcome them warmly into her home.This time around, we switched things up a bit and began the day with some shopping at the Max Store with the help of our stylist, Chioma Okereke.Temitope was not left out of the fun experience. The shopping was for both of them!They had a lovely time, but we still had more for them. Their day was just getting started.For their lodging, we found them a serene and lovely place to relax far away from the hustle and bustle of the ever busy Lagos city life – The Epe Resort & Spa!That look on Joyful’s face is everything! It was quite a pleasant surprise because they weren’t expecting me.We sat down to talk about their exciting experience on the show.It was such a pleasure meeting them.We were so glad to see them looking much happier and fabulous at the end of the day. But we were not done with them just yet!The next morning began beautifully and held so much promise.They were treated to a tasty breakfast in their suite.Next, it was time to explore the grounds of the beautiful resort once more. This time around, it was on their bikes.It was nice to see them having so much fun…… and creating beautiful memories.Soon it was time for their vow renewal ceremony.Joyful walked in looking stunning, and it was so fulfilling to see them looking so happy.But nothing prepared us for that emotional moment when Temitope got on his knees to read his vows to Joyful. By now, I’m sure you already know that Make Me Fabulous Season 2 is currently airing on TV. When I thought about creating this show, one thing that was very important to me was that the show should create an opportunity for married couples to talk about the challenges they were facing in their marriage. And so, for Season 2, we created a Talk To Steph segment on the show where I sat down with each couple to discuss their experience on the show and what led them to embark on the “Fabulous” journey.
Our sessions were engaging and eye-opening and I must say I personally learnt a lot from our interaction.
For Episode 1, we had Adetoun & Gbenga and it was such a joy hosting them. When Adetoun pointed out some of the challenges they were facing in their marriage, Gbenga was quick to accept his faults and promised to make amends. I really admire him for that.

On Sunday August 12th, Make Me Fabulous Season 2 premiered on Africa Magic Showcase, Channel 151. The first episode was the story of Adetoun and Gbenga and we had so much fun hosting them on the show. I’ve been so touched by the wonderful feedback from viewers who watched it and I hope the remaining 12 episodes would touch your hearts deeply.

Love and romance are two major pillars every couple needs to make their marriage work. The women, especially need this. After courtship, after the exchange of vows, after the babies start coming, a woman still wants her husband to be romantic and show her affection in that very special way. This is what Adetoun desired when she contacted us on this blog for a chance to be on the Make Me Fabulous Show.
According to her, there was lack of communication, lack of pampering, and lack of romance in her marriage. She complained that she felt old in the relationship and her husband was more focused on their baby’s upkeep rather than her.
I was pretty sure we could do something about this situation and so we reached out to them to give them a fabulous treat. I’ll tell their story with pictures:
The Next Page Productions team arrived at their home to pick them up. Glad they’re having a good time.Lovebirds!They enjoyed a quick bite together, which of course provided the opportunity for good communication before we moved on to her next request – some pampering.They had no idea what we had planned for them!Our first stop was the Venivici Spa where the lovely staff gave them a warm welcome.A full body massage is always a good way to relax those tense muscles.Next, Adetoun got a facial treatment to make her skin glow!It was a very refreshing time for both of them, but we had more!A surprise shopping experience awaited them at the Vlisco Store.Here our lovely sponsors treated them to some free Vlisco fabrics.It was nice to see them have a good time.We wanted Gbenga to look charming for his beautiful wife so we took him out for a nice haircut.While Adetoun headed over to the Enthyst Place for some shopping!She met up with celebrity stylist Chioma Okereke for some dress shopping.Picking out the right clothes is so important for a fabulous look.We still had more to do in transforming Adetoun’s look and our choice for a hair stylist was Ferdinand.And he didn’t fail in transforming her hair from this….To this!Next was her makeup and Kelechi of BelleBedazzled did her magic.Wow! Isn’t she stunning!!!The highlight of the evening was a romantic dinner and Gbenga was patiently waiting for his wife.He had no idea he was about to see a gorgeously transformed woman.They sat down to enjoy a lovely dinner….… which got emotional at some point.I was so glad we were able to make them so happy. But I still had one more surprise for the night.They had no idea I was waiting to see them, and they walked in pleasantly surprised!It was so lovely meeting them.We sat down to chat about their time on the show and their beautiful marriage.And that was it for the night!But we were not done yet. The next morning, we introduced something really special which they weren’t expecting. A vow renewal ceremony!It was so heartwarming to see them reaffirm their love for each other. They pledged to strengthen their marriage and that gave us so much joy to watch.We celebrated the glorious event with a cake and some wineAnd our wonderful sponsors put even more smiles on their faces with lovely gifts!It was wonderful having them on the show and I wish these two a lifetime of happiness together.

On Sunday August 12th, Nollywood star Stephanie Linus will premiere the second season of her highly anticipated Reality TV Show – Make Me Fabulous on DSTV Africa Magic Showcase Channel 151. To give her fans more to look forward to, she has released some awesome photos and a trailer of the show.
