  • What I Love To Do On Sundays

Sundays have a different vibe, a different feel, a different taste that makes it different from every other day.

I looove Sundays. Aside from the obvious fact that I get to spend more time in an awesome worship service, I get to do some things I don’t get to do during the week such as:

    1. Sleep – After a long busy week, Sunday is a time to relax, sleep and sleep some more. There’s nothing like a good Sunday afternoon nap.

    2. Cook – Because I have more time away from work, I love to cook those meals that take considerably more time than others. Like my favourite soups and salads.

    3. Clean Up – You know those boring and long tasks like cleaning out your closet or rearranging your home-office desk? Yes, Sundays are perfect for such chores.

    4. Call Friends & Loved Ones – Sometimes, the hustle and bustle of our everyday busy lives don’t give enough time for a simple chat or catching up with friends and loved ones. I love Sundays because I can have those lengthy chats and conversations with people that matter to me.

    5. Read – Sundays are just the perfect days to curl up in bed and read a good book.

    6. Eat Out – A special Sunday lunch or buffet with my hubby or close friends is always a great time to catch up, plan our week or just enjoy eachother’s company.

    7. ___________

I’d like to know yours. What are the best things you love to do on a Sunday that you don’t get to do other days of the week?

  • Don’t Worry, Be Happy

Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections.

For every minute you are angry, you lose 60 seconds of happiness.

Whatever you decide to do today, make sure it makes you happy.

    Have a fab day!

  • How Can You Tell When A Man Really Loves You?

Ladies, obviously this question is for you.

Sure, men have different ways of expressing themselves when they are in love. Some show very vivid expressions of their love while some may be very subtle with it. But regardless of a man’s love language, a lady usually knows when a man loves her. There’s a certain way she feels around him, a feeling she doesn’t get with anyone else.

Some ways men show they are in love are:

    1. He always wants to be around you
    2. He says the nicest things and the sweetest words to you

I’d love to hear from you. Complete the list. How can you tell when a man really loves you?

  • Watch The Touching Story Of VVF Survivors Blessing & Turafat

Imagine not being able to control your flow or urine or feaces. Imagine having your loved ones leave you because they were too embarrassed to be around you. Imagine passing through such challenges and finally having a successful repair surgery!

This is what 15 women passed through recently and thanks to sponsorship from Diamond Bank PLC, they are now living normal lives.

Recently, these women received free repair surgeries at the Kwara Specialist Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State.

I was particularly touched by the stories of two women – Blessing & Turafat, who had passed through shame, rejection and a lot of challenges while they struggled with the embarrassing effects of Vesico Vaginal Fistula. Blessing’s husband left her, Turafat had to leave her job….

Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF) is a serious disability that can be experienced by women after childbirth. They are holes resulting from the breakdown in the tissue between the vaginal wall and the bladder or rectum caused by unrelieved obstructed labour. The consequence of such damage is a woman’s inability to control the flow of urine or faeces.

Once again, I’m thankful to Diamond Bank for their sponsorship of this project.

  • #PrayForNigeria

It’s not about the numbers, its about the people… precious lives brutally cut short in their prime

100, 150, 2000? Every single soul matters, every drop of blood that was shed counts

A human life should mean more to us, more than our religious beliefs or selfish desires

This is one death too many. These senseless killings must stop!

Terrorism, Vandalism, Killings, Massacre, Bombings… have taken the lives of those who had a future, and those who were still searching

I say a prayer for peace, a prayer of hope, a prayer for Nigeria

    God Bless Nigeria

  • 10 Reasons To Wear A Smile This Week

You’re never fully dressed without a smile ~ Martin Charnin

Have you every heard the quip “It takes more muscles to frown than smile”? It seems truth is behind this statement, and there are many other benefits that accompany the resolution to smile more than just an attractive face. It’s the start of another week and although things might seem not seem so bright in some areas of your life, put a smile on it and see how better things become.

Here are 10 reasons I choose to smile this week. Do add yours in the comment section.

    1. Smile because you are blessed to see today, and should make the most of it
    2. Smile because there is no one else like you in this world
    3. Smile because it is the world’s easiest, most accessible stress reliever
    4. Smile because a smile is the best makeup anyone can wear
    5. Smile because there is hope and a promise of a better tomorrow
    6. Smile because you have people around you who love and care for you
    7. Smile because you live in a world of endless possibilities
    8. Smile because every cloud has a silver lining
    9. Smile because you choose to wear your experience as wisdom, not baggage.
    10. Smile because you can!

    Have a smiletastic week!

  • Simple Tips To Help You Recover From Holiday Debt

A little holiday splurge is really common. In fact, so common you won’t know what hit you until you count how much you’ve spent! Clothes, shoes, food, gifts, show tickets, more food, gadgets, home appliances… There are lots of things we tend to spend money on during the holidays, sometimes digging into our savings and even worse, going into debt.

Sadly many find themselves in this trap right after the holidays. Here are some tips to get out of debt:

    1. Don’t ignore the bills
It might seem like the easiest way to deal with holiday debt is to pretend like it doesn’t exist. The truth is, it does exist and ignoring it will only make it worse.

    2. Get a part-time job
If your salary can’t adequately cover your debt, its time to start thinking of getting something else you can add to your job. And thanks to the Internet, there are more opportunities than ever to do just that. If you run a business, its time to start thinking of an expansion.

    3. Reduce your monthly spending
Now will be a good time to start reducing the amount of money you spend each month. The holiday have revealed that you are spending above your means, hence your debt position.

    4. Don’t add more debt
This is almost like the point I mentioned above, but not exactly. As you reduce your monthly spending, be careful not to add more debts in subsequent months when you get to a more relaxed position with your finances.

    5. Give it all you’ve got
Being in debt is never a good thing. It sets you back in so many ways. Try your very best to get out of this rut as soon as possible.

So, did you get into any holiday debt? What did you spend so much on that got you into debt? How are you planning on paying off your debts?

Your tips might just help someone today. Let’s share!

  • Throwback Thursday: What Was Your Childhood Nickname?

Some days back, I went out with a friend and we were in a public place when out of nowhere, someone screamed ‘Fanta!’ Apparently, the person was calling a lady standing beside us!

She turned around and saw her childhood friend waving frantically at her, who eventually ran up and gave her a big hug. The lady’s name is Fatima and she is very fair… Lol

I’m sure many of us have had our names twisted into really funny nicknames when we were kids. Chioma became Chin-Chin, Lola became Lollipop, Chika became Chikito, Bola became Button and much more.

Sometimes the nicknames are coined from our real names, sometimes from our hobbies, sometimes from our tribe. Sometimes kids use it to tease their friends with distinctive parts of their body, like ‘Head Boy‘. I used to have a really slim classmate in school who was called ‘Pencil‘. I’ve heard someone being called ‘Igbo‘ by his Hausa friends…. and the list goes on.

So let’s have a nice Throwback Thursday. What nickname did your friends call you when you were younger? How did they come about that nickname? Do they still call you that name?

    Have a fab Thursday!
