  • Monday Motivation: Get Up & Show Up!

It’s a brand new week, lovelies…. time to get up and show up!

We’re already almost halfway through the year. How are you doing with your goals? You might not be exactly where you want to be yet, however, with the right motivation, you can turn that attitude around and get excited for Monday to begin so you can feel a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment in your life.

I hope these quotes inspire you as you step into the day and the new week!

“People who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

“This should be the spirit every Monday. Know that something good will always happen.”

“You can only become truly accomplished at something you love. Don’t make money your goal. Instead, pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off of you.”

  • SUNDAY THOTS: Be Encouraged!

No matter what comes your way, God is not surprised. Your challenge was not sent to defeat you; it was sent to increase you.

Difficulties and obstacles are God’s challenges to faith. When hindrances confront us in the path of duty, we are to recognize them as vessels for faith to fill with the fullness and all-sufficiency of Jesus.

God never takes away something from your life without replacing it with something better.

I hope these words encourage someone who might be going through some difficult situation. Hold on and trust God in ALL situations. You will come out better. Be encouraged!

  • Welcome to June – Happy New Month!

I wish you the best this month, but more than anything I pray if you face any challenges you pull through them stronger than before.

Hanging out with my girlfriends is always so much fun!

Recently, I had the opportunity to do this with some very good friends, some of whom I’ve known for a really long time. We’ve worked together on several projects over the years and it was great seeing them all.

We laughed, we played, we ate, we partied and of course, we had such a great time!!

  • Encouraging Youths To Become Problem Solvers – UNFPA & YIL Fellowship Bootcamp

As part of the activities for the UNFPA Nigeria 50th Anniversary Celebration, I was a keynote speaker at the Young Innovation Leaders Fellowship bootcamp which took place in Lagos recently. The bootcamp which brought together young people who have distinguished themselves in their quest for solutions and commitment to excellence had several facilitators and mentors teaching them in a series of lectures, plenary sessions, workshops, and demonstrations.

While speaking at the bootcamp, I charged the participants to apply creative innovation in solving Nigeria’s problems. I also encouraged them to take bold steps and stretch out of their comfort zone in order to achieve the extraordinary.

The Young Innovation Leaders Fellowship is a social enterprise aimed at promoting innovation across sectors in Africa. It is a four-month annual leadership immersion programme in innovation management designed to empower young professionals to attain their ultimate career dreams and inspire innovation in their spheres. Its chief aim is to unleash human potentials and scale up excellence.

As the UNFPA Ambassador for Maternal Health in West & Central Africa, I advocate and raise awareness on maternal health issues, whilst encouraging policies and laws that protect the rights and dignity of the girl child, and the critical investments needed for young people to fulfill their potential and for Africa to reap its demographic dividend.

UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person’s potential is fulfilled. UNFPA expands the possibilities for women and young people to lead healthy and productive lives.

  • Photos From Dry Screening At The Pan African Film & Arts Festival

    Hi lovelies,

We just completed three awesome screenings of the movie DRY at the Pan African Film & Arts Festival (PAFF) and I am totally overwhelmed by the positive feedback and support from everyone who was a part of this.

In 2016, Dry won the Best Narrative Feature at the PAFF. I’m so honored that we were called again this year for another screening. This goes a long way to show that the message of speaking out for girls and women never gets old and should always be at the forefront. Going by the immense positive impact Dry has made across the world in changing the narrative concerning child marriage and other forms of social injustice, we are not relenting anytime soon.

Meanwhile, Some notable guests who were present at the screening were Darwin Shaw (Dr. Alex in DRY), veteran actress Sheila Frazier, veteran actor Danny Glover, co-producer and editor of Dry Jane Lawalata and many more. My darling husband Linus Idahosa was by my side during this event and I’m immensely grateful for his love and support.

Big thanks to everyone who showed up or supported this screening in one way or the other. I’m so grateful!

Here are some photos from Day 2 of the screening:
