What I know for sure!

Fashion is over-rated! We need to understand that our heels, the designer bags, the diamonds, couture wardrobe are just accessories and not who we really are! The obsession with fashion and beauty and the pop culture distract the average Nigerian youth from the core elements that makes a person inspiring. By all means be fashionable but you owe it to yourself, society and to God to be much more than a mannequin. Our values are so twisted! Our students should focus on getting an education, not hustling to get an LV bag. There’s time for everything. And even when that time comes when you can afford all the glitter in the world, fashion will always be the extra benefit – not the main ingredient. First, build substance! Your love for the latest designer this-and-that will not increase your IQ unfortunately. And like Michelle Obama stated some time back, “I don’t want to waste anxiety on something as limited as clothes.” Word!

We do not need to forget that the way we dress is the way we will be addressed, so as much as we need to work on our values, our clothing should also be modest.

I have cheated death recently and when God decided to save my life.. I started placing my priorities right. I ve never been a fashion craze person.. I dress classic and conservative and I make sure I look good, but trust me there is more to this life than clothes and an LV bag. When I was struggling to survive, I wore like 3 cloths in a space of 2mths, had 50k in my drawer that I couldn’t spend cos i wasn’t allowed to eat for 2mths so I can survive…and there and then I knew that life is a lone race and only God can save u and give u a reason to leave.. I could afford all the lv bags in the world, gold jewelries et al.. But if God didn’t save me as he did.. I wouldn’t be alive to crave for meaningless things.. What am I saying .. Life is deep.. And run to God everyone

Oh my jingles like you live in my mind. Seriously our naija students really have to get their priorities straight. There is more to life than the latest blackberry, sugar daddies and color blocking or trashy dressing. Seriously your happy a guy driving a BMW x6 stopped and gave you a ride, did. It ever occur to you that it’s that breast he is seeing through that see thru chiffon top you wore without a camisole that he saw and not you, how do u expect him to make you his wife, you can only be a sex object to him so no matter how u want to dress or display skills in bed, you have giving the impression that all there is to you is what ur body can do for you and not what ur brains can do for you. ( I have been there and I know what i’m talking about. when one strays from what one knows should be and go about it the way that seems easier thank God I found myself).

Mrs Linus, dis is very true! I wonder why so many ladies/women of nowadays are so crazy about fashion but it is good to be in vogue but they should not allow it to take and rule over their life. Spending too much money on shoes, bags, dresses etc is just wasting of money. At times, when women buy these items, they will realise that they don’t even need them but they buy it to show off rather than investing on a projects that will brings more moneyand profit their family and the future of their children.

Learning to put ones priorities straight should be ones concern..we shuld ask ourselves dis qst “what do we really need in life” am nt disputing the fact that we are in a world of technology whr fashion is kind of a necessity buh rather we shuld be moderate about it..moderation is the key word here. Imagine one hving an outlook dat is so fashionable den inwards the person is so daft.. Pls we all shuld be moderate in all we do..to you mrs linus pls continue ur good wrks n God will continue to bless u for touching our lives positively..”Thumbs up”

my dear, u re so so point, i wish our youth can be educated and learn to be themselves, all things will later fall in place, crazy how someone would exchange her virginity for a BB curve only for another BB porshe to come out, an unfair exchange if u ask me…. i just love myself, av never bn under the influenced of peer pressure or competing with them… .the only competition i have is to surpass who i was yesterday, to be the better me each day i wake up…..Material things won’y give u class, i keep saying add value to urself inwardly and it will speak for u outwardly….some do all sorts to meet up, please people and attend all occasion.

I love ur blog, keep inspiring us..much love to you

Wish this piece can be translated into a movie, as so many youths are being influenced by what’s being canvanse on the screen. I believe the whole essence why we wear clothes is to cover up our nakedness and to look good which is secondry. Life’s worth more when priorities are set aright and not for the craze of whats in vogue.
you are an actress Steph, its difficult to come by one with such a affluence opinion. Good work girl and keep living by this example
