Rose sent in this. She needs your urgent advise. Hear her:Hello Stephanie,I am 29 and financially independent but my mum insists I can only move out when I get married. I work in a telecommunications outfit. Although I live with my parents, I earn enough to cater for myself and I also assist my siblings in various ways.I feel it is time I leave my parents to stay on my own which I can comfortably afford but my mum is kicking against it. She said she will not accept that I live her home except I am going to my husband’s house. I am still single and there is no way I will get married before this year runs out and I seriously need to leave my parents.I want some privacy but my mum would hear none of that. What if it takes another 5 years before I get married? I can’t stay with my parents for that long! What do you advise I do?

Skills To Learn While School Is On Strike
Education in Nigeria is tough. One minute you are in class, the next minute ASUU is on strike. Some schools strike for more times in a year than they actually teach. It’s sad. And it feels like the youth are going to waste. How do you occupy yourself when your university or polytechnic is locked down?
Here are a few skills you can learn and engage in:
ICT: The world is fast evolving and as youths, it is essential that we move at the same pace. While school is not in session, take out time to learn more about ICT. Coding is the future, and that future starts now! It will take you to a great level in life.
Bead Making: Fashion cannot go out of demand. Learning how to make jewellery will become beneficial depending on how dynamic and creative you are.
Bag Making and Foot Wears: Bags are very essential in our everyday activities. You can learn beyond making ladies handbags. Include men bags, children bags and any other style that suits the market. Also put footwear in the mix. It is also very important that you know your target market.
Phone Repairs: Phones are essential tools for us as humans. It transcends beyond a means of communication. It has evolved into a tool for doing businesses. When it becomes faulty, it is only natural that individuals who can sort the faults of the phones are sourced. Why not capitalise on this venture and learn it as a skill.Cooking: We all love food, don’t we? Learning to cook varieties of food will guarantee you a source of income either in the present time or in the long run.
Baking: Making use of your holiday from school to learn baking is not a bad idea really. In fact, it is a welcome idea. Do not allow the increasing number in the field to deter you because there is often an
opportunity that needs to be utilised.

TALK TO STEPH: My Husband Wants Me To Quit My Job
Justina sent this in. What do you advise?
Hear her:
Hello Stephanie,
I work in the Health sector. As a result of the tight schedule of my husband and I, we decided to pay for care
givers for our four and two year olds. My marriage has been blissful until I told my husband about the promotion I
got from my work place. This promotion means so much to me because it is a reward for my
efforts all these years; but at the same time, it is tearing my home apart. My husband said that I need to spend more time taking care of the family. That it is either I quit my job to take care of the family or I quit my marriage and take care of my job. I don’t think that is fair. This is my dream, and he has refused to understand. What steps should I take to solving this issue? Please I need your advise. – JustinaLet’s help Justina. Leave your comments below, she’ll read them.

DRY, THE MOVIE, HEADS TO UN
This is great news!
When I started advocating fistula awareness, one of my focus, as a filmmaker, was to spread the word and create the necessary awareness, pricking the ignorance surrounding the ailment. I did Dry, the movie, because film and pictures are still the most powerful tools for building discussions and engaging people, especially when it is a subject as sensitive as VVF. The next step was to get on as many platforms to speak. All of these efforts – film and speaking, came only after I had seen the damage this ailment causes young girls and even old women. Years have gone into helping victims deal with their pain.
In all of this, I had also imagined the importance of being at the UN to address this issue. Mainly because the UN is such a huge platform, and the messages shared on this platform reaches places my single effort will not be able to reach.
So here I am at the UN in New York, getting ready to speak on Dry, a movie that took me a great amount of time to shoot and perfect. It’s a good feeling. People are coming from all across the world for the events lined up.
It’s a great day!
Pictures will follow shortly.

Stephanie in that breathtaking dress!
Ah! Stephanie owned the night on Saturday at the #MBGN event that held in Lagos. She was a judge for the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant, but just looking at her strut in that red carpet… oh wow… she was so deserving of the crown herself!
From head to toe, it was perfection. It was a mix of Monroe-glam, Beyonce-fierce, and Cinderella-esque charm.
We totally loved it! And we are super proud of our s
uper star!You go, Stephie!

Should You Save To Buy A Phone?
The iPhone X is out! People are going gaga over it. It was introduced to the market with a price tag of $1,000.
One thousand dollars equals N360,500!
Hmm!
What else can you use N360k to buy apart from the latest phone?

We Remember 9/11
Today the world remembers 9/11. Not only for the terrorist act that took many lives and left many people without their loved ones, but for the recovery and the still-on fight against terrorism.
It’s been 16 years. The World Trade Centre came down in 2001.
How time flies.
We hope that there will be an end to terrorism, so that the world can move forward, embracing education, technology and development in all spheres. But most importantly, allowing for civil negotiations and solving the most tragic situations the world is faced with – Terrorism.
Do you remember where you were on 9/11, 2001?
